Are you prepared to give the next manager time?

The more I think about it the more I want a new manager who will come in and give our club an identity and a style of play from the youth team to the first team..

I want someone who can coach players to improve and who can develop youngsters..

When we do go into the transfer market I want it to be for players who fit our style of play so they hit the ground running. I want someone who players respect and who they want to follow because of belief in what they are being asked to do...

My Preference is Frank De Boer and I am prepared to wait a couple of seasons for him to get things right. But as a FANs are going to patient...

No manager that comes will be given time by the fans nor by levy.

I don't know why we even bother.

Of course, but none of us are in charge. As long as there is obvious progress, there should be time. If we lose the first ten games then it becomes difficult, but the club needs a change of culture from top to bottom.

When Redknapp left, they should have got rid of everyone associated with him - and I include Timbo in that - and made a clean break with free reign over the team and no outside interference. Having AVB there with Sherwood in the ear of Levy was clearly divisive, and Levy himself is a known meddler. Freund and Baldini have been marginalised by Sherwood, not to mention some players just being ignored. That happened under Jol, Harry and AVB, too. You decide whether it's a good idea or not, but as a management technique it really isn't smart.

I thought the idea was for the youth teams to play the same way as the first team (not a good idea right now!). The idea was to migrate to 4-3-3 under AVB but that didn't happen with the first team, although I think he wanted to - just without the players available.

Frank de Boer is my preference, too, because he will bring some backroom staff with him that are capable of doing this. Ronald de Boer is a youth coach at Ajax, Jaap Stam is defensive coach there, and they have grown up with the approach to football that will help 'fix' Spurs, as much as possible. About time the club had some continuity. Frank de Boer has ha to get used to his better players leaving each year, two of them to us, and has still won the title 4 years in a row. He has moved Daley Blind, a left back by trade, to a centre mid position where he has thrived. Some actual thought goes into his preparation and I want it to go into ours, right now I don't feel it does.

Yes.

Provided he doesn't play Siggi in a midfield two away from home.

That is the kinda shit that deserves the sack.

As far as I'm concerned the next manager has his entire contract to prove himself unless he's caught snorting coke from a strippers arse crack...If he does that, he'll be able to do no wrong in my eyes

So you'll be welcoming TS to the lane next year as he finishes out his 18 month contract???

Yes.

From now until the stadium is built all I expect is a decent challenge at trophies and top 6 finish. If I was to push my expectations a little further it'd be at least one tophy (preferably EL or FA Cup) until the stadium is built. Anything else is a bonus.

One thing the fans won't stand for is turgid footy. That's clear. Anyone - out of the perspective new coaches - who doesn't bore us to death has got a chance.

I find it amazing people keep bitching about AVB not given time, when he had a year and a half to implement his style on a group of players and he couldn't do it. Yes there were wholesale changes but the team was playing better when Bale wasn't the team then when he was scoring 18 goals in half a season

He kept changing his system and in the end it was nothing like he use to play at Porto or Chelsea

All I want to see is one of the following:
Improvement on the pitch, the team playing like a team and look like they
Not winning by fluking it
Improvement over the course of the season
Players are on board and show more improvement than their expected development
Win a trophy

If we see one of those things I don't if we finish football. If we finish 7th but have one of the things he will get time.

Yes, but ultimately it is down to Levy and whether he is prepared to be patient.

"Yes there were wholesale changes", which means he (the club) was set back a fair way. Bale, no Bale or whatever. Is it really so amazing that people consider that in mitigation? I think it's a pretty valid opinion.

It's also possible that ODL would have been perfectly willing to give him the time required if they were singing off the same hymn sheet. Then again…….who knows? He loves a change does the stunted one.

But this is going to open a whole can of AVBworms and that's been done to death.

All onions I suppose.

As long as he is honest, adaptable and appreciates what the club is about and tries to achieve it, yes.

The new manager will start with a clean slate with me, however if he acts like an arrogant **** or makes team selections that are bizarre that cost us points then i reserve the right to rip into him
