So many players available for this who are pushing for EPL starting places. This is how it should be rather than an obvious 1st XI and a load of squad players like we've had for years. Now is a proper chance for those players to stake a claim so let's hope they come up with the goods.

@Bulletspur - Go raibh maith agat !
.
Can't keep up with the pace, thought I had already stuck my head round the door into this thread.
.
Anyway.. A tidy win please. Keeping things nice and fresh for the Sunday night extravaganza !

It’s “thank you”, in Irish..... literally..... “may you have good (fortune)”

Fun little titbit to look out for, this is the heatmap of Antwerp's LB from the game against Ludogorets. Might get a lot of joy in behind on that side.

It will be hard for them to stop Bale, Vinicius, Bergwijn, Dele... It won't be easy and probably not too pretty but we should win.

For once, a ridiculously easy European travel fixture. The most arduous part of the trip will be the bus ride from Enfield to the airport. Royal Antwerp stadium is only 5km from Antwerp airport. Burnley was harder to get to.

Edit- post misread, ignore me

I might regret saying this but I think this will be an easy win for Spurs. I know those are not common for us in Europe but the way players are clicking in attack, today is when Vini scores and Bale shows more progress towards being his normal self.

3-1 to us.

It will be a difficult game, but we have enough quality in our players to win. I think 2 to 0 for us.

I think LoCelso and Winks will play behind Dele in a 4213 setup. At least, that's what I'd do.
This but with Lamela in front and Moura/Bale wide. Keep the link up between Moura and Vinicius, they could be our alternative Son and Bale pairing.

Excited to see Vinicius and Bale start again.

The Europa League isn't so bad if you've got a good and big squad.

I actually think for the purposes of the league the EL is the best competition to be in when a team has a squad as large as ours.

If we were in the CL our key players would be playing 90 mins twice a week at least and our squad players would barely be playing. EL gives us a chance to keep fringe players happy, experiment with new combinations/tactics, and in theory allows Kane/Son etc a full midweek rest (at least in the group stages).

Regular wins (which we expect in the EL) also do no harm.

Fully expect the CL teams who are playing strong lineups 2/3 times a week to start getting injuries by Xmas.

disrespectful, even partly in jest.
I think you missed the point, at no point does he say the Antwerp team will be an easy match. But in pure travel this is closer to London than Glasgow or even Newcastle, hardly any travel effort whatsoever.

I think we will hammer them 7 1... Bale hattrick and vinigoal with two and erm own goal x 2.

Not sure who will score for them.. Their defender from set piece...

How's that disrespectful, the OP is just stating the ease of the journey to our opponents, it's an easier trip than to say Zenit St Petersburg

I’ve reread the point and pulled the dislike. Maybe I read it too quickly, maybe it wasn’t the clearest point ever made.

better than all the way to the eastern extremities but no travel is easy at the moment, is it

Official IG saying Bale is starting. We all knew it anyway but confirmed now.
Can't wait for everyone in the match thread to forget he's only played 80 minutes all season and start with the "Bale looks rusty..." comments within the first 30 seconds.

He's not going to be fully fit and firing until after the next international break. 60 minutes tonight will be great for his general fitness levels, but I'm not expecting a 2012-esque performance. Just don't get injured!
