Why would they give us their best player on loan with no money to spend on an adequate replacement? Imagine if Real Madrid offered us a loan with obligation to buy if conditions are met for Harry Kane. We would be seething if that was accepted.

Exactly. They won’t. That’s why they rejected the first bid and they’ll likely reject the next. Seems a ridiculous punt to make.

This is bizarre because no one has mentioned him at all, but Di Marzio is reliable all things Italian football
I’d listen to Di Marzio. Very reliable with Italian football. But still this one isnt going to happen. We wont pay the cash and torino want cash now over a year from now.

It does seem like we want a loan with future option/obligation to buy. So if there is a club that’s willing to play Levy’s game there, I could see that striker jumping to the front of the target pack.

Ive done some research on this lad and he's probably both worth a good fee and a very good fit for us.

Is he worth a premium fee? Yes but not the €45 million quoted. He's had some knee issues but beforehand he was absolutely prolific and at the latter stages of last season started banging them in consistently again.

He's also just what we need. As a deputy for kane he brings what we miss when Kane is injured. A direct, aggressive and physical presence who can and will try to score from anywhere. His hold up play is also good and he links well so it looks likely that he could play with kane too. One other aspect is that he is the talismanic leader from the front. They might clash, who knows.

He's the only proper goal scorer we've been linked with, the others seem to me workhorse or target man types.

I'm in favour but I do see the sense in a loan with an option to buy...

I don’t understand why if a loan with option to buy offer has already been turned down due to Torino wanting a straight up cash sale, we’d go back with another loan with option offer? Surely we wouldn’t be that silly and there is in fact a deal to be done this way?

Anyone know where he actually said this? Can't find this information on his website

Was option to buy this is we have to buy him next summer plus bigger loan fee offered this time

I see, still from everything I’ve read Torino want a permanent transfer now if they’re going to sell.I hope there’s some truth in the rumours however as I think he’d be perfect

I've seen bits of him down the years. Strikes me as a finisher (which is always helpful for a striker) but that he relies on service, crosses and others to create chances for him. God help him if he comes to us in our current state.

Would also be surprised if Torino took the deal we seem to be offering. He's been linked to 50 - 70m moves for the past 3 years, they're not surely going to loan him out after all that interest

I think he has got two years left on his contract, so it will be now or never for Torino to hat a decent fee for him. I understand that Torino are like most Italian clubs and not doing so well financially. So if there is a limo to a loan fee and then obligation to purchase if set conditions are met (which are not our in the sky ones) then I can see a reason for them to come to the table. If it is true we have gone back with another offer we must believe that there is a willingness there end to deal.

We're no paying 50m for a 27 year old with recent injury issues and no sell on value. It's just not happening.

A guaranteed 50m, a club like Torino cannot turn this down
It’s not quite guaranteed. It would be hugely built around him hitting particular milestones in appearances and goals. If there isn’t a significant chunk of the €50m paid in the initial loan fee, I think Torino will turn it down immediately imo

Torino are not a wealthy club and are not in Europe and finished 16th.
50m is a huge money for them. So, I dont see why they wont accept a loan+obligation if terms are satisfactory

Belotti is not injury prone. He has missed just 15 games in his 6 serie-a seasons, scoring decent number of goals for a midtable side

Belotti is certainly not my no1 choice. But looks like we are skint. So, our transfer strategy has moved from identifying players to identifying clubs will do a loan+option/obligation deal.

Whoever the striker we will bring, most likely going to be a loan+ option/obligation deal. Is Belotti 50m-dont think so. But he has a very good serie-a record. So we should be able to sell him at a decent price even after 2-3 years.
