As a follower of WSL, it really isn't that deep. The American League was cancelled and doesn't start up fully until March, so Americans are coming over for regular football across the league. Alex decided very late to make the move, by which time all major clubs had their business sorted for different reasons. Football wise, she's unfit and club record not as good as the hype, so big teams said no. Outside of big clubs, it's teams like reading and Brighton, which not as tempting as London. Spurs also have two of her Orlando best mates that talked her into coming to Spurs last minute.

She is already on Spurs website and has been on billboard outside stadium this week.
Really outside of the States 99% of the world would never even have heard of her, we are not suddenly going to get 1 billion extra Chinese supporters (or even a million) because we announce we have signed a women people haven't heard of in a minority sport they never watch.

I just think the women’s team as a whole, if we’re going to be serious of that side of the club anyway, deserve better. And especially when it’s someone as popular - globally - as Morgan is. For example, she has 3.9M twitter followers - that’s a million more than Harry. On Instagram she has 9.2M followers compared to Harry’s 9.8M. She was also one of only two footballers to be named to Time’s 100 Most Influential People list in 2019. Salah was the other.

At a time we have naming rights up for sale, the NFL partnership, and a blossoming relationship with Amazon, it would make sense to me that Morgan is used in a smart and visible way to promote the club. Put it this way, I see far more reasons why you would than why you wouldn’t!

I think you’re underestimating the Global popularity of women’s football.

The key yesterday was it being her first official day with the club. So the in person media stuff ie the photoshoot and interview was going to be done.

I get that - but she’s been announced? Stars and Stripes etc - there was a tonne released - it’s done. I just can’t see how everyone is saying the club haven’t announced her properly

Maybe announcing is the wrong word then. But still she never had your 'typical' announcement which features the photoshoot and interview. And to do that the same day as Bale, it'd be a once in a lifetime opportunity to have those two together I think.

Maybe you’re jumping the gun a bit? Maybe such pictures and interviews will be posted once Bale and Reguilon have been announced?
