The latter 3 are all good players but they’re not elite and/or potential to be elite.

If Bastoni is a no go then we should be moving heaven and Earth to get Gvardiol.

Bremer is in the elite bracket, best player defensively out of them by far.

This won’t be popular given the hype around Bastoni on here but - to me at least - Bremer looks the better defender ?

Bastoni looks good on the ball in the opposition half but what I’ve seen doesn’t make me anywhere near as excited as I was when we were linked to Romero last summer (who looked absolutely made for the Prem).

Obviously if Conte wants him then we should try our best, but I’m not overly fussed. If Inter play silly buggers with us then we must act decisively and not let them (or the player) string us along.

Ultimately we’ll have options and it really shouldn’t be too hard to sign a decent upgrade on Davies.

As long as we can get gvardiol done, losing out on bastoni won't be an issue. We'll have the two best cbs in the world in gvardiol and Romero, what a position we'll be in.
