Chelsea aren't really in a position where they can allow one of their most sellable assets to go on loan for nothing, especially as there would be plenty of clubs willing to pay decent money for him.

They have a lot of work to do on their squad and no longer have a bottomless pit of free money to fund it. They've already lost Rudiger, Christensen & Saul for nothing - and have Alonso, Kante, Jorginho, Azpilicueta & Thiago Silva the wrong side of 30 with one year left on their contracts.

The idea that they would give Inter a bucket load of cash PLUS a player they bought for £100 million just 12 months ago doesn't seem to make much sense.
Saul was on loan last season.

It is in our DNA to stress about any possible transfer, but especially our number 1 target.

I know we will be fine no matter what with Conte in charge
It's not in mine. You've all been told the situation by 4 of us now. If things change I'm sure one of us will hear it and post as such. The media need for things to change(even if they haven't) or people won't continue to click on their links. And who exactly is going to click on @Dimitri Liesalotti if he's only saying exactly the same word for word as @Di Marzio.

I'm keeping my optimistic hat on for now. We've had ITK we are pushing hard and now this meeting has happened.

The news of our interest has been out in the Italian press for a while now. It is about the right time where the next development could occur, i.e. Inter have decided they need to sell Bastoni and have informed his agent. I'm sure the outcome of the meeting will be all over the Italian media by tomorrow morning.

I don't get this, we've been talking to Bastoni etc for a while now, why haven't we actually bid?
I may be very wrong, but my understanding of these types of transfers is that the clubs will thrash out a lot of the top line details during discussions before an official bid is made. So whilst the wording of a "bid" for a player conjures up an auction style sales process, it's not like that in reality.

On top of that, we need to remember that most of these deals won't happen in isolation. If we buy Bastoni that will affect our other dealings, and will mean Inter need to find a replacement. If they buy Bremer then Torino will be looking for a replacement etc. etc. Not to mention Inter will be juggling their own overall finances and will only confirm a deal for Bastoni if it fits their overall picture.

So there's not much point in us just putting £50m on the table on day 1 if Inter need time to sort their follow on deals out. If they say "give us a couple of weeks" we are left holding our dicks somewhat.

It would appear that one of Paratici's strengths is understanding the Italian market so well and being able to manipulate situations that are beneficial all round. If he is able to facilitate Bremer to Inter in any way - even if it's offering Tanganga to AC Milan so they cool interest for example - then it helps us get the deal done. Lots of moving parts and lots of things that can change in a flash.

Cheers Trix for the reply.

Also, PSG haven’t announced Campos yet and are soon going to be without a manager. Surely they have other priorities.

This guy is reliable

edited to add translation

Info: Milan Škriniar is well targeted by the #PSG in the same way as .... #Chelsea . • But Inter Milan are also receiving requests from English clubs for Alessandro Bastoni . If one of the two leaves, the other will be retained.

He's also Inzaghi's agent and is most likely there to discuss his new contract, that's the rumour.

People need to stop reacting to every bit of news negatively. What will be will be. If we don't get Bastoni it seems we have good options lined up instead in Botman and Torres. That's a fuck of a lot better than how we used to operate with that useless Hitchen involved. I give it 7 to 10 days....
Yeah I think it's clear that we're giving it everything to sign him. If he doesn't come for whatever reason I won't be too annoyed as it will be down to some Inter or Chelsea bullshit that's beyond our control.

It's when we dilly-dally to save a few quid and miss out on someone we really need, or skimp out on a first choice player to bring in a second rate turd that we end up selling for a loss...that's the annoying stuff.

Sounds like the kind of thing that could be leaked from the Inter end to try and panic us into spending more on Bastoni. Same as the Man Utd interest and our potential counter play with the Torres leaks. Definitely feels like we are nearing a conclusion either way.

Can't help but feel they'd much rather sell Skriniar than Bastoni, especially after the fans reactions to a potential Bastoni sale in the last couple weeks. If they get a decent offer for him from Chelsea or PSG I think they'd likely gladly accept it.

I am chilled out but it's every other post in the threads right now mate and the rules are extremely clear.

The last window fucked me off no end because the transfer section became a free for all, and it's already getting to that stage this early on.

If only A&C would give me an hour in control of his ban stick???

I edited it so quickly it was changed before you quoted me. As I said, I copied the wrong link.

I know we can be accused of reading in between the lines but to me there's never more exciting ITK than Trix getting mad because people are panicking it's not going to happen because of links to poor sources.

Really gives me faith in this deal.
