Sevilla's Botia could be next for Spurs revolution as AVB looks for defensive cover

Tottenham are showing interest in Sevilla centre-back Alberto Botia.
The 24-year-old former Barcelona trainee is on the wishlist at Swansea and Wigan also but Tottenham are considering a deal with concerns over Steven Caulker’s future and William Gallas set to leave.
Andre Villas-Boas was keen on Ajax’s Toby Alderweireld but Roma are close to finalising a deal for him.

Doubt there are concerns over Caulker's future.

There was an article the other day that Andre wants to turn Spurs into another Barca.... and, from seeing all the (ex)Barca players the press have "anounced" that Spurs are eager to buy (Botia, Song, Sergi Roberto, dos Santos, Deulofeu, Sanchez, Villa, Tello), it's just a matter of time ;)

I thought AVB had stated in the press, we only needed four senior centre halves. We've had five this year, but Kaboul has been out all bar one game.
Kaboul, Vertonghen, Caulker and Dawson, as good a set as you will see in any PL squad.
Also Khumolo will come back from his loan, and I would think be sold, not sure he is likely to dislodge any of those above, and not likely to be loaned again, just cash in.
Now this is the 4th or 5th centre back linked, Diakite from Lazio and Douglas from FC Twente, both out of contract, Alderwield from Ajax, Fernandez from Napoli and now Botis from Sevilla, so either it's just paper talk, or one may be leaving (beyond Gallas running out of contract that is).
Hall in the Academy sounds a bit more old school, Dawson'esque, then there is Ekong who I believe was a CM converted to CB, (sounds like Vertonghen), and Velkjovic who seems to earn rave reviews despite playing above his age.

Caulker seems to have fallen badly off the radar over the last few months, a mate of mine was saying that he's had a bit of a fall out with AVB, has anyone else heard anything like that?
Just seen one of our sponsor threads is for Warrior promoting Liverpool's kit, why's that one here?!?!?!?!?!

Troost-Ekong was in negotiations with Waalwijk and FC Twente about a transfer last January so doubt he's much of a future at Spurs (but he's still a Spurs player though...)

Douglas has lost his regular starting spot at Twente after a rather poor season (for him).

I'd much prefer Kurt Zouma. That kid is going to be an absolute monster. He reminds me so much of Kaboul.

To the "doh" guy. Sorry to destroy your illusions about Ekong and Douglas: I am glad you're not the one scouting Spurs prospects :D

He's huge talent but if Spurs got him where would that leave him (Zouma), Kaboul and Caulker? Jan should be a starter and so should Kaboul. Zouma would not come to sit on the bench, nor would Caulker like to see Spurs buy another young CB - particularly if Zouma went straight in to the team or even took Caulker's place on the bench.

It was more in relation to if we truly did not want to keep Caulker. Apologies for not being exactly clear in that.
