good effort for Egypt. cameroon looked disoriented at best. little time together before the start of the ACN. got together for only one friendly in preperation for the cup where Egypt played 3 friendlies in preperation.
cant take anyting away from the Egyptian performance. they played as a unit in the first half with Hamburg's Zidan #9 and French side Strasbourg's Midfielder Hosni #8 ( scored the 1st and 4th ) and Middlesboro's Shawky at midfield looking solid and connecting really well.
you're saying Zidan is lLITTLE for EPL????? .. well, he is not any shorter than Defoe .. i think he stands at 178cm where Defoe is only 169cm so Zidan is reletavily bigger and in my opinion better. tends to be selfish at times but then again so is Defoe and maybe every striker on the face of the earth .
the cameroon defeat is rather embaressing to Eto'o in particular as he has been taling trash the days prior to this match.. he's been talking revenge ( Egypt eleminated Cameroon from qualifying to World Cup 06), he mentioned that Egypt was that great a team and that they got lucky in 06 ACN etc...
Cameroon's coach showed real bad management of play and tactics . a coach with no significant record or potentional to lead a power house such as Cameroon. Egyptian coach adjusted well in the second half with good subs to slow the game down and control or take back the midfield after Cameroon seemed to control things early in the second half.
Cameroon will rebound from this loss and will make it to the second round .. so this loss though embaressing with such a big score , but in the end things will look better for the cameroons later on with two semi easy games ahead.
