It's good, but Ade and VDV is better.I'm sorry but this thread needs starting. I thought it would be VDV and Ade but now Defoe seems sharper and they seem to be developing an understanding. For now anyway, this is our starting front 2... And I for one am happy with that.

??? I thought yesterdays performance would have shown the few "Ade and Defoe" wanters that Defoe simply isnt good enough anymore.
Guess i was wrong.
Dont let the fact that we won (and his few recent goals) take away from the fact that Defoe doesnt quite cut it anymore

Didn't work yesterday.
Both were isolated because we didn't have a link man (especially Ade who saw nothing of the ball other than long punts) + we were out-numbered in midfield and got overrun.
Defoe played well yesterday (for once), but 4-4-2 simply doesn't work. It's got to be 4-2-3-1 with vdV as a #10.
I forget, what formation did we play against Liverpool?
And also, why can't we play both throughout the season? Isn't it good enough to know that we can actually change/adapt if we need to?
I think so.
Parker and Modric won the Liverpool match.
The front 4 in the first half against Wigan is the most impressive I've seen our attacking play in a long time, and needs to be the blueprint for going forwards.
4-4-2 might just still work against poor teams at home, but I wouldn't risk it any other time.
