I'm getting heartily sick of know-nothing morons spouting off about our club in the press!

The latest is Igor Stimac having a pop at Daniel Levy.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not a blind devotee of Daniel Levy. I think he's done a bang up job as our chairman and I wouldn't swap him for any other. But I've criticised him in the past when, from my own limited perspective, I think he's made an error.

But I don't appreciate some footballing failure like Stimac having a go. What the fuck has it got to do with him, the prick? What an absolute shit-for-brains, know-nothing, moronic prick!

"He made a promise and den he played with his ickle willy and den I went and had a cwy! Waaaaah!"

Made a promise, did he, Igor? Prove it. Where's the document that says Daniel Levy 'promised'. Has anyone seen this, now legendary, promissory note?

Documents that make promises, document that make promises. I'm sure there's some legal term for that sort of thing...

I know! It's called a contract. Now, if only Daniel Levy had made a contract with Modric, then that would be the basis of an agreement.

Wait a moment! They did sign a contract! Isn't the promise for Modric to play fro Spurs for six years?

There's your promise, Stimac you footballing failure. Oooh, Derby County and West Ham. What a winner you are!

Dick.

Rant over.

I have no idea what you're talking about but it sounds like fun (y)
It's very much a stream of consciousness venting of fury.

Basically, Igor Stimac, the Croatia boss has had a go at Daniel Levy, saying that he (Levy) promised he would let Modric go to Real and that he's now gone back on his word, because he (Levy) wants to be famous in the world of football.

I got worked up because a) I can't actually tell the moron (Stimac) to shut up and b) I shouldn't really be getting this worked up.

So had to vent before the positive feedback loop caused my head to explode.

Ah, well I wouldn't worry too much, the little fella will no doubt be in Spain in a week or so, nobody will remember anything Stimac said and Levy will be frantically polishing his head with Brasso whilst trying to sign Grant Holt on loan with a minute to go on deadline day. No idea why he would be polishing his head but I like to think it's an instinctive reaction to high pressure situations.

The modric situation isn't really helping anyone at the moment.

Was thinking exactly the same thing when I saw Stimac's comments. There have been a few from others as well, trying to shift the blame off the player... 'Modric should be allowed to train with the first team and play in friendlies' hold on! No one but Modric has stopped himdelf playing in friendlies and training with first team, was it not him who didn't get on the plane to the states?

As I have said dozens of times about this, Rez, the Modric camp and it's supporters seem to be conflating two wholly seperate articles, namely:

1) If Real come in for you we'll listen to sensible offers (i.e market value)

&

2) If Real come in for you we'll let them name any price they want to pay and just accept it even if it is only a fraction of the market value.

Now, I am willing to believe the former was said, I am not willing to believe the latter was said.

The fundamental problem is that the Modric camp and it's supporters aren't going to fulminate, threaten, attempt to bully, cajole, ridicule, berate, etc., Real Madrid. How could they? So, the only course of action they have left is to disregard the fact that everyone knows Real have unsettled the player and then made a low-ball offer, waiting for him to tantrum his way into a move at their low-ball offer (it's a standard Real tactic), and try to wear poor old Dan Levy down. I, personally, recognise fell that no player, ever, should be in a position to work against the interests of his parent club to the benefit of his prospective club in regard to reducing a transafer fee, as I find it decidedly unethical, but I do recognise that from a player's point of view it is easier because once you are shot of that club you won't have to deal with them, whereas you can't queer your pitch with your new employers. So, even though I think that they should be berating Real for being cheapskates, offering to do with out the (fecking ridiculous) loyalty bonus, and offering to take a minimum wage (and I mean that literally) to fulfill his ever-evolving dream of playing, now, for Real Madrid, I know it ain't gonna happen.

I think we should be concentrating on getting it over that all we are asking is proper market value, and when you look at the prices through Henderson, to Oscar, Hazard and Moura (all untried in the top leagues in Europe or in Eruope at all), and Moutinho, with his release clause, and then bring in his peak age, experience, value to our club and 4 years remaining on his contract, there is no reason for us not to ask for more than any of those players cost.

True .

Do you think that this will persuade D.L. to entertain release clauses in future contracts or will he continue to avoid them , perhaps because he prefers horse trading and brinksmanship ?

Just media hype trying to make a big story out of it. Who cares what Stimac thinks esp if he's not astute enough to know the difference (as SP stated) between "we'll let you go if they pay the asking price" and "we'll sell you at any price because it's an honor for us to do business with Madrid" o_O

Just got to hope that we can get replacements in so the impact of losing him isn't felt too much on the playing side (don't want another Berba scenario)

This is clearly part of a Croatian uprising against our club. We sold Kranjcar, we sold Corluka, we hid Pletikosa in a box for a year and now we're annoying Modric...so to be fair no wonder they have got it in for us. Plus they clearly all don't like chicken badge.

The only solution is to buy some Serbians. Where's Goran Bunjevcevic when you (against all odds) need him?

When was this 'agreement' to allow him to go to Real Madrid put in place i wonder?

Maybe when he was digging his heels in to go to Chelsea last summer
