Man....this whole mess seems to be having an effect on FIFA's latest project

The Premier of United Passions in LA was attended by 2 individuals...

At the first screening of FIFA-funded film "United Passions" in Los Angeles the week after U.S. prosecutors charged several officials of world soccer's governing body, only two people attended - one out of curiosity, the other as a soccer fan

Or Maybe it wasn't all this trouble with FIFA wasn't the reason no one went to the film afterall....
Two hours of wretched, self-congratulatury Fifa history is disastrous cinema, but valuable proof of corporate insanity. And Tim Roth as Sepp Blatter – why?

A football movie where the heroes are desk-bound administrators.. the only thing good about it is the timing of its release. That's just brilliant!

So some news from German press here:

The German newspaper Bild are tonight reporting that Swiss authorities have announced they successfully seized documents from a building that previously housed a sports rights marketing agency, on the same day as the FIFA arrests. Bild claim that Swiss authorities have admitted that the "data and documents taken" are linked to the allocation of the next two World Cups.

Now brace yourself for this;

German newspaper Die Zeitnow claims that the country's government sent Saudi Arabia a shipment of arms to persuade them to support 2006 World Cup bid. The then Chancellor Gerhard Schroder allegedly authorised shipment of rocket-propelled grenades a week before the vote back in the year 2000.

FIFA world cup bid involved the trading of RPG's WTF

Here's an update on the Germany 2006 World Cup bidding process story, after the newspaper Die Zeit claimed that the German government allegedly sent Saudi Arabia a shipment of rocket propelled grenades in order so that they would support their '06 World Cup bid. In that same article, written by German journalist Oliver Fritsch, it is also alleged that German firms such as Volkswagen and Bayer promised high levels of investment in the far east, and that The Daimler Company invested £73 million in the South Korean car company, Hyundai.

In 2010, talking about a possible egypt bid

Egyptian news website Ahram Online reports that Jack Warner told the Egyptian FA President that he wanted a bribe of $7 million to secure his support for an Egyptian World Cup. Ahram Online reports that the former Egyptian Sports Minister, Aley Eddine Helal, had the following to say to Egyptian television late last night.

I did not imagine that FIFA was so corrupt. Jack Warner demanded $7 million before the voting.

Egypt's FA president El-Dahshori Harb met with the FIFA official in the United Arab Emirates and informed me that he wanted a $7 million bribe.

I told the EFA [Egyptian Football Association] President that Egypt could not participate in such a crime.

I informed Egypt's former spy chief Omar Suleiman, who confirmed that I had made the right decision.

Meanwhile in Brazil, this man has ruled himself out as a candidate for president however is looking to take down the sponsors who gave kick backs to the head of the Brazilian FA, (possibly Nike, Budweiser and TAM airlines)

So the documents relate to the world cup bids in 2026 & 2030?

I thought the topical nature of the movie would be great marketing for it.

How wrong I was.

Can't imagine how many people would have went to see it without the controversy.

I've seen it mentioned, just not sure where.

Blatter did admit it was a mistake, though: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...den-Ball-and-distances-himself-from-vote.html

A vanity film about the history of Fifa has flopped in the US, taking £397 in its opening weekend. One of the 10 screens showing it sold one ticket.

United Passions was funded by about £17m of Fifa cash, and was completed before corruption charges were made against 14 of its officials in May.

Starring Tim Roth as Sepp Blatter, the hagiography of football's governing body has had damning reviews.

The Guardian added that "as proof of corporate insanity it is a valuable case study".

397 quid :ROFLMAO:

Bud Light Lime is actually a great beer to plow down while lounging on a hot, sunny beach.

I feel a little dirty for saying that, but f*** me, it's true.
