Is he actually going to take this free kick?
I feel BBC Sport have this on their clipboard already.

I will say this - in the years ahead, sports management classes will study the Kane deal as a masterclass in negotiations.

100M for a 30yo player, in the last year of his contract. We will never see the likes of that kind of deal ever again.

Uh have you not seen the money these saudi’s have been spending? Give it two years and i think we’ll soon see 100million for a 40year old player!

At least there will presumably be some warm feeling of nostalgia in looking around the dressing room at all of his teammates, all devoid of confidence while the wheels are blowing off of their season, and at another hapless manager head-in-hands and under the cosh. Familiar territory.

And oh look! There's Eric!

I don't think anybody has said he's the problem.

I read some of the German media reports from the weekend and the negative ones seemed to think that he hasn't turned up for the big moments.
He isn’t a big game player. He just isn’t.

Hope they go through with a home win, still banking on him scoring a penalty to knock the gooners out next round

He scored goals in a lot of London derbies for us and some crucially important league games but he didn’t turn up for a lot of semi and finals for us and England.

For me Kane is a funny one as I think he’s such a good player he naturally commands a lot of respect from his team mates and because he scores so many goals it almost makes the rest of the team ease up as they think ah it’s ok Kane will score and we’ll be fine so teams as Pep says become the ‘Harry Kane’ team but yet he’s not Messi,Ronaldo,Mbappe level etc and personally I’ve always found him nice but frankly really very boring and almost robotic and I wonder if that rubs off on the rest of the team also.

This combination is good enough to get 2nd place league finishes and runner up and qtr/semi finals but it doesn’t get you over the line to win.

We shall see but if Bayern don’t win anything this season for the first time in many a year that can’t be a coincidence since Kane having gone there.

Also I know he played for Southampton and then after Blackburn, Newcastle for most of his career but isn’t it interesting that Shearer the player most similar to Kane in a way (without Kanes ability to drop deep and be a n.o10), has only won the premier league once and not a single other trophy.

Now sure if he’d have gone to man.u I’m sure he would’ve won a ton but if Shearer and Kane were that good they’d have dragged their teams to a few more trophies.

He would do really well with Bayern. I don't think he speaks German though so why would he go there
It won’t matter as just about everyone in Germany speaks very good English anyway (put us to shame on languages), as does Jose.
one to watch maybe as TT is skating on thin ice at present.

The fact He played in 4 finals and had a total of 4 shots says everything.
other elite players can take the game by the scruff of the neck and make something happen.
Yea Kane did this for us in the league against Arse and Chelsea but when it really came to it he fell short just as much as the rest of the team.

Don’t get me wrong I loved him when he was here and he will always be a legend but that doesn’t hide the truth regarding his performances in the biggest games he’s played in.

The thing is, in bowing to the banter merchants and leaving for "trophies" he really has heaped extra pressure on himself and by association Bayern, as now with every cup game lost or ground given to title rivals the knives are coming out and the same claims he got with us are rearing their head. Only that pressure is ramped up to 11 as he is at a team that expects to win most if not all trophies available to them every season.

Would've loved to see what he could've done in an Ange team (which i am sure he would have enjoyed playing in more than any other Spurs team he'd been part of)

But all i can say about Harry is he gave me moments of great joy in what i see as mostly dark days as a fan of actual football, so i will always be grateful for that. And would welcome him back any time. (as long as he hasn't lost his pace :cautious: )

Ze German media will have a field day with that if it happens.
Phenomenal striker, he is world class but it’ll be interesting to see what happens at the end of the season when they do their voting for European player of the year and whether he finishes above his previous positions when he was with us as I think the players take a lot of notice of that.
I think he’s gone there thinking instant trophies and the reality now for him is that in his first season he might win bugger all.
All this time away from his family when he could have just stayed and won the same amount, he must have thought about banging in them four goals in pre season and thought what have I done, I know I would have.

2 more years and I think he'll be back in England with us

Yep, I think Bayern had their lederhosen pulled down.

With Eric?🤣
I think we’d be one of the only clubs who could afford him but if we’re working off the current blueprint still then I don’t think we’d go near him.
He didn’t work as a pressing CF the last couple of seasons with us and he’d be 32, extra 1/2 yd of pace lost as well.
I just don’t see the club in its current structure shelling out loads to bring him back after his Bavarian jaunt.
