However I do have to divulge that I have before attended an MK Dons match, at Stadium MK, and in the hospitality section at that. I think that will earn a lifetime ban from your club president @scat1620 ........
Jesus, you knowingly paid money to MK Scums? That's a lifetime ban from the clubhouse and a mandatory visit to https://davidmatzdorf.bandcamp.com/music with your mute button disabled.

I don't think Sterling should have been booked for simulation, having watched it countless times I am relieved they didn't give a second penatly but they could well have. It was so close to call and I don't think you can send a player off in a situation like that. It was not clear enough to be a penalty but that doesn't immediately mean it was a blatant dive.

With the foul on Dele, I am confused. All the punters I have heard talk about their being no intent to harm, but I was under the impression that intent no longer has anything to do with it. He clearly endangered the player and VAR have given so many less obvious reds. It is just way too inconsistent
Totally agree with the second half, but not the first. I don’t think there was any contact, and I don’t think the way Sterling fell was natural. He chose to do down without contact - that’s a dive in my book

I think Ndombele could be great and I love his drive and close control. But I think you are missing the point with Dembele - his skill was to receive the ball with 3 people draped all over him and emerge moving upfield with the ball. He didn’t need to play a killer pass because he’d already created the opportunity by taking multiple players out of the game. A simple ball to one our attacking players was plenty

Ndombele can do it all. If he stays fully fit next season he will be our best performer

The feeling in the south stand was that Sterling should have been booked for a dive early in the match - an incident not even highlighted on MOTD or even really on Sky coverage.

Throughout the game I thought we had an element of control tactically. Subs were good, and a clean sheet against the top scorers isn't a bad thing. Signs of improvement.

That’s not the point. He created overloads by taking players out of the game. Ndombele and Lo Celso both have the ability to do the same, albeit in different ways. We can build a team around that pair

I didn't question that re Dembele.Yes he did things differently but for me not necessarily creative although he was one of my favourite players even when there were a lot of people that weren't in his corner early on with us.

Pretty annoyed with with every pundit harping on about the amount of chances city had and how lucky we were that they didn’t score.

No mention of the intensity of our defensive efforts, the amount of times players were there with crucial blocks or just enough to put the city players off.

Sure we road our luck at times but that was still the best display of Jose’s promised “defensive process” we have seen to date. You may not think it pretty, but it still deserves some acknowledgement

On the second one from the one angle I've seen there might be contact but there might not be. Hard to tell. Sterling gets the ball first but not clear if Lloris catches him.

On the first one, on the initial replay angle there seems to be minimal contact, maybe a aguero and aurier's feet glancing against each other but hard to tell who initiates contact. It initially seems that Aurier does however get a firm foot on the ball. On the second angle it looks clear that aguero got the ball first and aurier may of got at most a slight touch of the ball. But contact appears minimal and Aguero dives to the ground in an incredibly unatural way, he literally jumps. I think it probably is a pen but it isn't clear and obvious in the slightest. We've had bigger shouts ignored.

On your second point, it has never been ever about the intent to harm. Only if a foul is reckless, using excessive force or careless. I don't really understand why former pros seem to talk about intent. I guess because a professional foul or bad sporting conduct is always a yellow (that is how they got their man sent off) and it is a yellow essentially because there was no intent to play the ball. Now if your tackle is reckless and not an attempt to play the ball that is in theory two yellows so a sending off. But if it uses excessive force it is, and for as long as I've lived, a straight red.

I haven’t seen the whole game yet and Sterling certainly went down intentionally after the penalty. But Kane or Dele would have done the same and if they were sent off for it I’d be furious.

Sterling gets away with at least three yellow cards during any game I watch him in though.

I just feel bookings for diving, especially second yellows should be reserved for the really obvious theatrics, Suarez for example gave some tremendous performances

The controversy was totally worth it however, just to see the clip of Mourinho go from smiling to storming the 4th official once he heard Sterling was already booked. Hilarious and you’ve got to love the passion
