He has been far from brilliant, but he hasn’t been a total disaster. And yes, despite the fact we have been poor since pretty much the start of 2019 until now, there is no denying that (as much as they aren’t good enough and I want them both out) Sissoko and Winks did pull off an unlikely and half decent partnership to give us a little bit of a backbone and help us through a difficult period for 5 months. They were far from perfect, but I do think that they go a little under the radar during that difficult period after selling Dembele and Eriksen downed tools, and Sissoko in particular upped his game, from a physical perspective at least. I agree he is far from good enough for us, but I wish him well

regardless of natural talent, he’s given us his all and has been a top pro throughout his time with us by all accounts, if he is off I wish him all the best

Hold it. I thought money from the middle east was considered contaminated, with racism, slavery, torture, oppression...

If he goes wish him well. Can’t fault his professionalism and the grit he showed to turn his performances around after a stuttering start. Owes us nothing and hope any move works out for him.

You're obviously not making that point in good faith but just in case you are:

You can't just conflate trading assets on the open market with ownership/sponsorship and expect the comparison to wash.

Holding his arm up like that, especially with the way handballs were/are being treated in the CL (e.g. City's pen against us in the QF), was incredibly dumb and almost certainly ran counter to any preparation or reminders from the coaching staff in the buildup (as well as just...common sense).

But I still like him overall and would miss him. I remember stuff like the driving run through Inter's defence in the CL groups that season, setting up the winning goal quite late on.

There's almost an unwritten rule in football, though, and Mane shows his colours by breaking it. It's one thing trying to play the ball and the opponent gaining advantage by the ball hitting their hand, and it's another altogether aiming for his hand to gain a free-kick/penalty.

Liverpool fans are the type to complain if a player falls over after being fouled by their players, if they don't quite like how he fell over, but I guarantee no criticism was levied against that shitty move by Mane.

If someone did it to them, they would have set up a not-for-profit organisation to lobby about it. The squad would probably have it on pre-match warm-up t-shirts, and they'd probably have a stand named after it.

Almost certainly, because that is the nature of that absolutely toxic fanbase that backed Suarez and the wearing of those awful shirts.

But it was still smart (or devious, whatever) of Mane and stupid of Sissoko.

Explain the difference between the money we'd get from abu dhabi selling kane and the money we might get from qatar for sissoko.
If open market money quickly forgets where it's been (like the bathroom towels forget where they've been when we dry our face), then it is the same for both players.

We all know the difference. It's that we want sissoko to leave, whereas we wanted kane to stay. That's the joke.

Probably inaccurate but I actually think Sissoko would be useful to Allegri as he can fill in and do a decent job, Serie A may suit him more at this stage in his career. He grafts and can do a tactical job even if he can't pass effectively.

Although, it is a little strange why they seem to be happy to offload McKennie.
