Does anyone else think that playing with Lo Celso will make it even better? come on José.

It would make for a proper tasty midfield, although looking at the heat patterns at half time yesterday we were playing more of a 4-2-3-1 with Ndombele central in the attacking three rather than part of a three man midfield.

Sissoko and PEH were holders so depends on whether Jose feels he can afford to lose this defensive screen or not.

Lo Celso is combative though so could possibly play a little deeper alongside PEH.

Also good option to be able to deploy both Lo Celso and Ndombele against certain teams that are proving hard to break down (not Burnley though as they’d kinda unique in league in how they do things and provide a tough challenge).

Very good last night, that nutmeg first few mins was great, he worked hard, tackled and created well.
Stark contrast to his match vs Burnley last season.

Long may this continue.

I think Sissoko and Hojbjerg is overkill a lot of times. I can see the odd occasion where it makes sense but more often than not it should be one or the other. Lo Celso has the industry to play as an 8 and can carry the ball forward. I would stick to the 4231 with Ndombele in front of Hojbjerg and Lo Celso.

The question is who can stand in for them. I think Sissoko or Winks can stand in for Hojbjerg and Lamela or Alli for Ndombele. I just don't see anyone capable of standing in for Lo Celso. I think the one with the capability is Skipp but he's on loan. I think when Lo Celso isn't playing we should drop Ndombele back alongside Hojbjerg and play Lamela or Alli in front.

I bet you never complain when Son or Kane does that, which is pretty damn often.

Yes, he should have tried to get the ball to Lucas but I think I can forgive him for having a rare pop now and again.
In one of the early Europa matches where you could here every word from the coaching staff, and also in at least one of the training videos, you could hear Jose et al. shouting "Shoot Tanguy, Shoot!," so I think he is being coached to be a bit more aggressive with his shot selection. It still may not have been the best choice under the circumstances, but I could see why he decided to o for it. Plus, I think about half his goals have been deflections. Certainly his first and his most recent against ManU were deflected.

Whilst being one who had almost given up on Tanguy and am so so happy for him. And us as a team he has changed beyond recognition. He should have passed. It was almost a certain goal if he did. It was 0 0 Burnley away. Fair enough if we're a few up, but that alone could have been the difference between 3 points and 1. He should have passed. No doubt, no question he should have passed. I can't speak for Jose, but I really beleive he would say so also. At that stage in the game, with such few chances, it was greedy, and not thinking of the team.

Also to @jonnyp it really used to piss me off kane and son used to do this. And I say again used to do this. Jose seems to have beaten out the indivual element and we really do now play as a team. I beleive the increase in assists both son and kane mainly to each other has increased partly due to this.

I agree they have become a lot better at playing for each other and the team this season but Tanguy passes 99 times out of 100. Just think it's a bit harsh to criticize one bad decision in a game where he mostly made the right decision every time.

I wasnt critical of his performance, however I would of rated his performance more had he passed. Maybe I'm being harsh but when you have a man wide open you have to pass. Especially at 0 0 away. Team, team, team. Its small but could have been crucial to us gaining a CL spot, winning the league even. Small moments make matches. Small Moments win trophies.

He frustrates me a bit, he needs to get on the ball more.

His spacial awareness and finding pockets needs some work.
He was quiet due to the fact the player behind him refuses to pass the ball forward. There were many occasions when he found himself in a pocket only for Moussa to pass it backwards or sidewards. We need one of the two holding midfielders to be braver on the ball and get it through that first line.
His teammates need to pass him the ball more. So many times a pass to Tanguy is on. But because he has a man nearby, they opt for a safer ball. TN is so talented that even if he has a man in close proximity, he can keep the ball and create something.

Then they loosely marked Tanguy and left him in a little space, bringing him into a bubble between the lines, and Sissoko was following at a distance. And when they had kindled a fire in the middle of the pitch and sat down together, Sissoko sat down among them. Then a servant girl, seeing him as he sat in the light and looking closely at him, said, “This man also could have passed to him.” But he denied it, saying, “Woman, he was not open.” And a little later someone else saw him and said, “You also could have passed him the ball.” But Sissoko said, “Man, I could not have.” And after an interval of about an hour still another insisted, saying, “Certainly this man also was able to pass to him, for he too is a midfielder.” But Sissoko said, “Man, I do not know what you are talking about.” And immediately, while he was still speaking, the final whistle sounded. And Tanguy turned and looked at Sissoko. And Sissoko remembered the saying of Tanguy, how he had said to him, “Before the final whistle today, you will reject the opportunity to pass to me three times.” And Sissoko went out and wept bitterly.

This is genuinely excellent writing.

Can see teams coming in for him for big money in the summer. I don't think he would want to go anywhere though. The great thing is that under this regime we will only ever sell great players to bring in the same quality back in

All Scripture is breathed out by Tanguy and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of Tanguy may be competent, equipped for every good work.
I'm starting to think you're unwell. Like, in the head. I'm saying you seem mentally unstable.

An interview with him:
Seems slightly at odds with the portrayal of him as a trouble maker constantly leaking to the french press. Some of us (including myself) probably need to learn a lesson here as at least this interview shows a level headed, self aware man who wants to give his best.

Good on him,

didn’t think he had this mentality in him but he could be the first player I can ever remember making it off Jose’s naughty step!

it also proves you cannot believe all that is in the newspapers . As Niel Lennon said " its just false news "what was reported in the press this week about unrest at the club ".
Also Ole Soljaer said that "what was written about Greenwood was completely untrue "with ref to his turning up late for training ..
I believe that the sports writers have their own fav teams and so if they are fans of certain clubs then there is a natural progression in that they will dislike other teams . Example Cross is an Arsenal fan big time and he would like nothing better than write something negative about spurs and if he can't find nothing why not take a molehill and make a mountain out of it so to speak .
