I actually rate Lingardinho, I think he’d be a great squad option - but he would be just that, a squad option.
In reality I don’t think he gets in ahead of Bergwijn, and obviously not ahead of Bale or Son.
That said, if Moura and Lamela were to move on, Lingard wouldn’t be a bad buy if he was available for a relatively modest fee, but I can’t see why United would be willing to strengthen Jose on the cheap.
Would be a shame to see him move to Zenit at this point in his career tbh, he’s better than that.
Lingaurd had a spell of about half a season where the United fans called him MessiLingaurd, trust me they would be laughing their balls off.
He also gets a bad rep because of how poor he is on the ball.Banter aside, Lingard is pretty underrated. His off the ball movement is great, he’s quite fast and nimble and is a pressing machine. Gets a bad rep as a player because of his social presence.
Lingard is rated very highly round here, he’s an incredibly popular player among United fans
