Unfortunately our performances whether we win or loose mirror his work at united.
Man united will always win trophies regardless of who's in charge tho

typical Mourinho blaming lack of pre season and fitness, not like it isn't the same for all clubs, just another piss poor excuse

Cant hide behind joing mid season, cant hide behind team not knowing his tactics/methodology , he has to take full responsibility. Ancelloti owned him in every football managerial way today

Mourinho relies on moments of inspiration from his players. Bale is exactly the sort of player who will hide his deficiencies as a coach.

If results AND performances like this continue we’re going to start see Mourinho lash out.

He’s had a while now. Let’s hope things improve by the international break :)

It’s very fucking obviously the manner of the defeat people have a problem with - and the fact it was a stark reminder of how dire we were last year.
Oh yes, but come on, first game of the season? There is no point talking about how dire we were last season. To put it in another persepective, we could have grabbed a champions league spot too, and we could have relegated as well because the performance and points we had with Poch had too been poor.

I would have some cause of concern if we were trailing 3-0 at half time, thrashed further after Mourinho made some subs. Those will be vindicative of Mourinho been fucking poor.

We got our balance back in some areas of the field, instilled some discipline and mentality from these additions, things wouldn't magically change overnight for the better. Nobody can tell Everton had made the better signings and/or will be higher than in the table end of season, because there are still 111 points to fight for. Is plain ridiculous to call for his head after just one fucking match.

For those possession and performance concerned, I really recommend to downplay those expectations as long as Mourinho is in charged. Points matter, wins matter, and at the end of the day as long as he brings in a trophy or two, I don't care one bit about the fucking possession stats or beautiful football we are supposed to be famously known for. Because on the other hand, we are also famously known for winning fuck all as the bridesmaids and I am sick of that.

It's the first game of the season guys. Our first loss in 7 games. Chelsea opened last season with a 4-0 loss. I remember some Arsenal sides opening the season with losses to Villa and West Ham. United lost at home to Palace early on in the season last year.

Teams have lost the opening game and went on to win titles. It's not an ideal way to start the season but fuck me at least give it a month before writing us off for the season. Seriously..

Its not the loss per se in essence, its the clueless manner, style and character of the loss

What have you seen from mourinho in the 10 months he has been with us to suggest he will win a trophy? Genuinely curious

Love the post mate bit of perspective.

result not end of the world but the negative performance was a tad worrying but hard to say how much of that was down to negative tactics or lack of any creative players.

It could all go tits up but it took klopp 3-4 seasons to get Liverpool to being better than a top 6-8 team. Jose’s negative football today was concerning but the squad is still not a top4 squad! There are clear holes. A draw would’ve been a fair result.

Everton have an equally experienced manager and just made 3 very good signings. 2nd half was awful but we should’ve scored at least 1 in first half, Pickford made a few good saves.

We still massively need a replacement for Eriksen and for Ndombele to step up and lo celso back fit. We also need to sign another striker and ideally upgrades on:
Davies
Dier
Lucas

So 4 more positions either in this window or this one and January:
LB
CB
AM
ST

PEH and DOHerty looked tired but they will come good, Doherty unlucky to not score on his debut.

It was poor but I think Jose still needs more time and signings before he’s properly judged.

Cups should be main focus this season anyway. Bad start but let’s give the season a bit of bloody time.

There’s enough games in the next month to have some idea about what we plan to do this season. Let’s hold fire.

I think it's more the manner in how we lost to be fair. There was absolutely zero desire out there today.

Jose complaining that we didn’t have a proper pre season. Everton started with 3 players in midfield who signed for them last week!

This guy always complains but never changes his shit tactics

We didn’t have a proper preseason. Our 1st XI or any resemblance of it didn’t play together once due to self isolation/Covid, rest time and the stupid international fixtures.
