Watching united play some brilliant stuff tonight, going third with a man cardiff sacked.

I'm jealous.
The irony is they use a medium block, don't mind giving up possession, usually win the ball deep, play very fast and direct on the counter and score a lot of goals of individual quality.

And everyone says they are playing fantastically.

I’d suggest it’s more to do with a first team averaging circa £40m per player (and that’s with two youth products starting) than the man in charge. Ours was roughly a touch below £20m per player v Arsenal (and that’s sans Dele and Dier, who had they been in would’ve played ahead of a more expensive option in any position).

One word, Bournemouth lol.
Where was the game plan there? Thats what worries me. How anyone goes into a game against a team like that with no will to attack. Very odd.
One day preparation. We went from a very compact and disciplined performance to a game we needed to be more attacking yet only had one day to change strategy. No wonder we couldn't adjust.
.
Also it sounds like we'd been preparing for the Arsenal game more than Bournemouth so I guess Jose prioritised (I'm glad he did) it and hoped it would be enough to see of Bournemouth too.

Until Jose gets players he wants and has a whole preseason drilling his team it will be sporadic as we just don't have the time to prepare game for game, especially as he's trying to lay the foundations at the same time.

Yeah the thing is people just put way too much emphasis on formations as if they are playing chess, yeah formations are key in the way you implement your gameplan but they aren't the be all and end all of how to win a match, it comes down to good old fashioned desire and the ability to be able to implement a successful gameplan over your opponents.

People are acting as if this is going to be the blueprint for Jose in every match, it isn't. We setup 4-4-2 because it helped us take advantage of Arsenal's weaknesses and played to our strength's, but we still had to fight for the win on the pitch - that is how you win football matches not solely relying on the formation.

Tonight they had less possession, less shots, less corners and less key passes. They are full of confidence and at home.

Don't get me wrong Soton are a tough team to play when on it but it does show you how people see things differently.

have I had to many to drink or does ralph hasenhuettl remind you of a young Jose. Southampton are hard to beat by the top sides and has less tslent to choose from. if Jose was to go, he would be worth a shot???

He’s more like a young klopp mate. Gegenpressing very good from saints, hard team to play against.

Reminds me of when there was a section of this board asking for fucking Tony Pulis when AVB was sacked. I’d love to call those people out now but it doesn’t seem the search function goes back that far.

edit: seems I was wrong!

Bastard!

I still thought that they were lucky to get a point from us

Mourinho being replaced by Graeme Potter. Heard it all now.
Really? H
Some of our fans are actually mental.
Jeez thanks. Potter is a good manager with attacking intent. No better than Poch was when we picked him up. I'd rather take a punt on a manager who plays attacking football than Jose who doesn't.

'But Jose wins things'

We'll lose more than we win if we persist with Jose and I'm not talking about football matches.

Just my onions. Not worth a trolling.
