I remember when some people were saying Poch had only a few games to save his job.. we went on to get 86 points that season. Then the same thing happened the next season and on and on, until it finally happened of course.

So it's not surprising that there's posters going nuclear over Mourinho already. Maybe he is playing the blame game but firstly, you-know-who could do a bit of straight up prompting rather than Poch's gentlemanly allusion and secondly if you knew from his previous that he does that, why would you hire him unless you plan to give him the tools. That's what we were all hoping for and presumably we need to give it some time to see if that does indeed pan out.

We just need patience really.

Get to the end of the season as best we can, rest up, sign a few players and hit the ground running in 20/21.

Bit daft thinking things are going to be rosy this season, after the disjointed and messy last 9 months.

Don't disagree that we have to give a little patience but I would have thought we would have an identity on the pitch now rather than what we have seen so far.

It’s hard to have an identity when you have very little quality time on the training pitch to get across that identity to the players.

Talks of getting rid of Mourinho are all nothing but personal dislike of him. If the turn of form from 14th to 6th and playing of some bright prospects in Bergvijn, GLC and Tanganga in these 3 months did not give some of you a tiny bit of hope at least, you must be feeling terrible supporting the club right now.

To add to this. Remember Poch's first season? He'd actually had a full window and preseason yet the team was still really disjointed.

We started with the high press, beating West Ham and rolling over a crap QPR. Then Liverpool embarrassed us at home 0-3. We then spent until January fluctuating between average performance + win to awful performance + defeat. It was awful to watch and it was hard to see which direction we were headed in - some of those early games were a real chore to watch. Not until Poch had firmly got his feet under the table and brought in his own players did we start to look a threat.

So whilst many state "There's no excusing these crap performances", I do think some perspective is needed. We're in transition. Decent performances are always far far away.
Perhaps we could trouble you to edit the highlights of these games in chronological order to illustrate how shit Poch games used to be too before gaining some consistency. :D

Positives about JM
- Proven winner, more medals in his sock drawer than Spurs have ever amassed in their history
- Comedy moments in press conferences
- Bags of experience
- PPG since coming in

Negatives about JM
- Baggage!!!!!
- Negative tactics
- Style of play (maybe - depends on if you buy the bit below and believe it'll change)
- Way he speaks about us and our team (that we are old, knackered, missing players and are lucky to be able to find 11 old boys to put out on a match day

Excuses/reasons from/for JM
- Missing key players
- Lack of time on the training pitch
- Lots of players are actually older than their years due to slave driver Poch and his training methods
- Needs time and "his" players brought in to play the way he wants

I think that about covers the last 100 pages or so?

I accept that's your opinion and every opinion is valid but equally some people believe that trophies are the logical end result of being involved in competitive sport. I don't want us to be the 'nearly man' of football forever, being damned with faint praise because we play great football.

Absolutely agree, that's people choice I don't mind that, I was just explaining to the original poster that even though I'm in the camp of watching football for entertainment more than triumph that right now isn't the period to worry about quality of performance aslong as we're getting the results until the end of the season.

Now we've hit a bump in the road though obviously the performance aspect is magnified if we aren't getting the results to justify it.

Calling for him to go now or before the summer is, imo, stupid.
I dont think he's the right man for the job and I think it'll end in tears but he has to be given a chance.
We look a disorganised shit show to me but even so lets see what happens in the summer and the start of next season before we get the torches and pitchforks out.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

We do have an identity... We mirror Man Utd from 2016-18.

But the football he plays is turgid, insipid and absolute shite...

I think people are forgetting even with son and Kane we got spanked by Brighton and embarrassed by Bayern. Jose has come in and steadied the ship from an aging not as nearly motivated squad. Doesn’t help when our most expensive signing is a dud right now. Jose will need time and a few windows to do the painful rebuild poch was going on about. If we get cl this season it will be a miracle personally. How can Jose use any other tactics when we had nobody on the pitch who can hold the ball up or hold the under pressure apart from Lo Celso. This season is a complete write off for me and I wish we could fast forward to July 1st straight away.
