Spurious posts for the ITK thread but if we’re discussing Levy then all I’ll say is there’s a big assumption we’re at the destination but actually we’re still on the journey. Don’t throw the driver off yet.
Such a shame that Enic and levy are all about the money rather than glory. We’re in such a good position but just can’t take that final step unless they push us there. Thanks herc for all the updates but ultimately feels like we’re just watching the same mouse in the same wheel again and again and again.
What boring drivel would you prefer? It feels like every thread is currently filled with people arguing about Levy.
Can we not fill the ITK thread with the same boring drivel please?
I know what you're saying, but you can't deny that Levy is a top of the range knobjacket.
Thanks Hercules - but the questions are -Cheer up! Still expect the very least one signing before window closes
JL wanted JM! Not DL! DL then fell into pursuit of him
Don't think we're just one step away anymore sadly.Such a shame that Enic and levy are all about the money rather than glory. So that is why I refuse to throw shit on DL at least until summer.
One big issue with Levy is he doesn’t realise that footballing assets decline over time and that other clubs improve. When we achieve something (lasagnegate season), Nelson saha window, 2nd with Poch. He feels that what we have is always going to deliver those results.
I wonder who Levy wanted?
if you want an insight to DL, and how he thinks, then listen to the man himself, from an interview he gave just a month ago:
"“Wouldn’t it be boring if we were guaranteed to be there [in the CL]? Obviously, we aspire to be there every season but there is no guarantee whatever we do. When we are there, we want to go as far as possible in the various competitions but sometimes it is the luck of the draw. We just want to go as far as we can.”'
Compare that to Liverpool Chairman, Tom Werner after liverpool missed out on the league last year ""We obviously didn’t win the league but we’ll be back next year and we’ve got a lot of motivation to win the league next year. I’m excited.”
“As special as last season was for Liverpool, it was bittersweet towards the end. As successful as we were, we didn’t finish the job in the Premier League."
"To have the opportunity to win the Champions League was so special. We came into this experience wanting to win trophies for the team and for our fans. It was really gratifying to witness that in Madrid. It was an extraordinary evening.”
On transfers: “John (W Henry), Mike (Gordon) and I will leave the transfer business to those who know it so well – Jurgen and (sporting director) Michael Edwards....Our role at FSG is to support the manager and the people around him in the best way that we possibly can.”"
The lack of clarity around the desire to actually win is clear in the investment in the squad and results in the pitch. Don't expect things suddenly to change because we have a genuinely world class manager - we will never win major honours with Levy in charge
