Almost every title won since the wage cap was removed has been bought.

I get what you're saying but to me there's a massive difference between being a successful club and reinvesting the money that generates into maintaining that success VS just taking some shit club and throwing money at players until something sticks like Chelsea and City have done.

Some of Liverpool fans are annoyed because, they thought they will be the media darlings from now till the finals. Now, we have decisively stolen their thunder of having made the final against all odds...they are super pissed.

Except for Chelsea,Arse & WestHam, we will have the entire nation support against Liverpool, thats for sure...
They are still the media darlings - even when Man City were celebrating winning the league, I think it was Martin Tyler who was referencing Liverpool’s glorious 2nd place. Literally at the final whistle.

I think it’s so sad, it’s hilarious.

Robbie on AFTV is asking everyone if they would prefer Tottenham to win the CL and they win Europa or that both win nothing. They are all saying they prefer both to win nothing. Shows how small minded and obsessed with us they are. They would prefer to stay in the Europa.
In the unlikely event of the situations being reversed how would we vote ? I’m more interested in us being in CL than what they do....
Hopefully we win and they lose to really make their summers .

I don’t care about Arsenal. At all.

I think they'd have done that whoever was second given the number of points etc that they achieved which was, if one can look at it without the scousehating tinted glasses on for a moment, a pretty amazing 2nd place, in this instance it just happened to be Liverpool.

Liverpool St station after the game yesterday, I witnessed a group of around 6 teenagers, must’ve been about 16 yrs old. A spurs fan walked past them and one of the group (let’s call him Dave) started singing ‘we scored the first goal, in your shithole, we scored the first goal, in your shithole’. So I figured they were West Ham fans. Except one of Dave’s mates then punched Dave straight in the face, bringing a reasonably loud cheer from passer by’s and causing Dave to aggressively rant at his mate whilst simultaneously trying not to cry. The Spurs fan just carried on walking past and was laughing at what he’d just seen.

Then a massive black guy who must’ve been about 6ft 10 carrying a child in his arm walked up to them all and said pretty much word for word ‘firstly, you didn’t score the first goal there, we did, and secondly, is it really a shithole though? Is it? Sing shit songs, get punched in the face mate’. And then he just walked back to the bench he was sitting on. Glorious.

It was so surreal. I can only assume Dave’s mate was a Spurs fan who had just had enough of Dave’s shit. Then the way Dave looked at the 6ft 10” guy was beautiful. Pure, genuine fear in his eyes.

Some random guy in a Spurs scarf then went up to Dave’s mate and high fived him. Dave kept his mouth shut. Dave learnt his lesson.

Typical really, we’re playing Everton and it’s a West Ham fan causing all the shit.

4 or 5 Everton fans on the underground from Seven Sisters yesterday singing songs about Spurs and City which was nice to see. One of them also told off another for swearing because there was women and children present. Great form from the Everton fans. They're welcome back.

They have a poll on one of the arsenal forums with the same question, but a slight majority to both win.

I would always vote for what's best for us first.

I just want to say before I say the following that I in no way support how either owner acts at home or their views on human rights.

However I think that there is a clear distinction between Chelsea and City. Your post I think perfectly sums up Chelsea.

But from what I understand City's owners have invested heavily in the local community and have done a fair bit to help the underprivileged in the area. They have also been relatively pragmatic in building their squad. Yes they have spent large amounts on players but their record signing has been to date Mahrez if I remember correctly, and at 60m is not obscene in today's market.

As I say I do not condone or excuse the actions of their owners and it is difficult to ignore. But take the elephant in the room out the equatio they are a very well run football club.

Your excusing of City's owners because they've done a lot for the local community (which they no doubt have) is a classic example of sportswashing working exactly as Abu Dhabi want to.

They are human rights abusers. They would be criminals in most developed countries. How well they run the football club is neither here nor there, you must not take that elephant out of the room no matter the circumstances.

At what point during that entire post did I say I excuse City's owners?

I went out of my way to say I in no way excuse them.

I was just making the point on how the club was run.

The people who run the club are doing it on illgotten gains.

I suppose that we should have Brian Kidd prosecuted for acts against humanity should we?

Be serious.

I must confess I’d be voting for both to lose. Qualifying for CL in those circumstances would be nice and give the club money BUT if they won the CL before us that would last for eternity and I hate that club.

Although it would be unbearable, the game is about glory, not about what your rivals are doing.

It was, but looking at the Game (part of the Times) you do have to wonder why Liverpool are on the fucking front page and not City.

That defies belief really lol.
