Thank you for that. I only started in 2003 when my brother was dating a girl from North London. It has been a long and interesting ride over the years. Still slightly stunned over the season so far. I couldn't be happier for you guys who get to experience it up close. COYS!

Was your brother taking breaks in between or was it a constant ride?

Because betting odds are based on how many people are betting on said teams, hence why Liverpool always figure near the favourites for every title as Scousers keep giving bookies all their money regardless of how good they actually are.

Surely that's only relevant to a certain degree, if the odds change on a transfer bet then it'll be due to a leak and a crap load of people will have whacked some money down on it.

With a football match it's not like a load of people all of a sudden found out Liverpool were going to get past man utd in the next round, these bets will have changed based on their next opponent, if we got man utd and Liverpool got Dortmund you can bet money (haha) that we would have shorter odds than Liverpool.

No, it is entirely relevant because that is the ways bookies make money. Whether Liverpool realistically are heavier favourites than us or not doesn't come into it.

This is from a Dortmund fan site...

"I would like us to draw Spurs or United. A dream come true if we eliminate one of the rich boys and later watch them lick their wounds, while splashing out yet another monstrous 150 mil. for mediocre players."

After the draw he said...

"My wish came true. We are facing Spurs. About time we made a sugar daddy club cry again."

Now I don't often get pissed off by opposition fan comments but this has fucked me off to the point of wanting to embarrass myself and sign up to their shitty fan page and put them straight that we are not a "sugar daddy" club in fact we are quite the opposite. Maybe @Mullers would be best to put them straight on Mr Levy's spending :D. Does this fuck anyone else off to be put in the same bracket as United, City, Liverpool etc?
Its only one fan's view from whabI can tell. Maybe lighten up a little, and look forward to a great clash!

Dortmund fans reaction to the Europa League draw on Reddit:

UngalaG 6 points 10 minutes ago

If we beat them I don't think there is any other team atm that could defeat us in the competition.

TacopandasPierre-Emerick Aubameyang 1 point 5 minutes ago

yea, we will be the favourite to win it

GeRockZz09 2 points 10 minutes ago

This will be two great games!! I think we got good chances here! The only bad thing is that we play home in the first leg :/

Motzki09Shinji Kagawa 3 points 8 minutes ago

Worked out for us against Porto. But I agree, neither leg is going to be easy

berman82Henrikh Mkhitaryan 2 points 10 minutes ago

Seriously? What's with our luck of the draw?

PuneetGupta1234 2 points 9 minutes ago

A very difficult match

JulianZ88Julian Weigl 2 points 9 minutes ago

Not the ideal match up, but I'm confided in our team.

dejtceverybody know... my pace 2 points 8 minutes ago

Will be tough but entirely possible.

ColdFrostThomas Tuchel 2 points 5 minutes ago

I'm happy with the draw. We have to beat the best to win it. Dortmund should definitely win this one. It'll be a very interesting game.

mechinginir 1 point 5 minutes ago

Dortmund can beat them, its going to be a great match.

TacopandasPierre-Emerick Aubameyang 1 point 4 minutes ago

one of the few teams i did not want us to draw, they are in great form this season

FidgetyfoeShinji Kagawa 1 point 3 minutes ago

Have confidence people.

You can tell it's a European team - their English is far better than that of our domestic opponents ...

I love international fans personally.

I had no choice in supporting Spurs. I was born in Chingford and my Dad is a Spurs fan.

An international fan however looked at all of the teams in the world, and for some strange reason thought to himself "I like that Tottingham Hotspurs". When you think about it, that is the opposite of glory hunting. In actual fact, choosing to support Spurs is crazy. It's a special type of crazy that I love. In fact, it is just the type of crazy that I think would fit right in with our support :)

I'm one of the international supporters, and I did a bunch of "research" before choosing Spurs. As an American, I have gotten fed up with sport in the states. Everything is about the money and not the sport anymore. I grew up playing football, but with such little exposure in the states and the MLS being pretty terrible to watch until recently, I decided to look for a club to support in European football. The first few years supporting Spurs were a little hard as we weren't very good, but with much more experience in watching all of European football I can honestly say I think I made the best choice. I'm proud to be an (international) Lilywhite!

It's aggravating for sure, but I'm honestly not surprised. I post on a few German football forums, and they do often lump the EPL "big boys" together, which then correspondingly leads to the assumptions that they're all rich for the same reasons. The fees paid by the clubs certainly don't help discern between the clubs, especially when in Germany the fees for your average player in that league is still substantially less than what EPL clubs are now paying for mere backups.

So point is, I'm not surprised, but it's still blatant ignorance on these peoples' parts to not be able to discern the differences between us and the other big English clubs. Aside from Lamela and Soldado, our spending records for individual players really aren't much different from Dortmund at all, and between the two we've actually incorporated more of our own youth than they have in recent years.

Even more baffling when you consider their turnover is actually higher than ours!

Having seen a fair bit of Dortmund this season our ability to not be out of it after the away tie is going to be crucial. If we can stand up to them there, and come back with an away goal, and 1 goal down or less, I feel confident we can do them at the Lane.

Typical hipster fans. If you aren't german, why do you support them? I guarantee you that this poster only started supporting them a couple of seasons ago.
I want to clarify my comments RE football hipsters.

It annoys me seeing english/american/wherever the fuck you're from "fans" saying they support Barca, Real, Bayern just because they win things. Nothing winds me up more than going on to twitter and seeing Corey from Slough putting 'Born Madrista, hala madrid' in his twitter bio.

Saying you're a Dortmund fan when you aren't german is potentially the most hipster thing of all time. They had one amazing season and fucking Deshawn from Ohio decides he has actually supported them his whole life and wants the world to know it.

And for the record...if you chose to adopt spurs as your team...i dont think you're a hipster or a glory hunter...i think you're insane.
