We're going to end up at MK dons, aren't we?

I don't see how any other option is viable really

I'd honestly rather see Ipswich. Only slightly smaller than WHL and similar journey for many from Liverpool Street. Or Brighton, just for fun. Heck, Upton Park would suffice. Just not MK :(

If we build the current plans I will be very disappointed. It's 6 years out of date and smacks of an Emirates mark 2. Didn't like it when they released it in 2008 and hate it now. Where's the originality ?! We need and deserve something better and iconic.

I did my degree in architecture, I work in housing development and I co-designed and built my own house 15 years ago, so I give a shit about good architecture.

I think the architectural design of our new stadium is adequate, no more. I don't find it inspiring and I think the architecture is OK, but not special in the way that (say) the Allianz Arena and the stadium at Braga are special. On that basis, I'd say it's a letdown, but that doesn't surprise me, after 30 years of head-banging to try to prevent philistine contractors and clients from settling for the mediocre.

But it's a hell of a lot less tacky than the Emirates, which could have been a decent building, but has been severely let down by cheap, clumsy detailing, which I would attribute to a lack of project management control. Even if it had been detailed with more flair, it's still a much more staid and conservative concept than our proposal.

Arrgggghhhhh...Pain.In.The.Arse.

As many, I kind of expected an appeal but there was still a small part of me hoping that it wouldn't come to this.

At least THFC have provided an update I suppose....every cloud eh!

2018 though...that's another 4 seasons, 8 transfer windows of pain and hope!

I don't see why a 1 tier arrangement will produce any more noise than a 3 tier stand which will hold more fans. What have I missed?

I'm not sure that the argument is that a kop will produce more decibels, just more atmosphere.

The crowd noise issues were focused upon elsewhere in the design process. In the early design stage, I think the design team took advice from acoustic engineers and worked on issues like the roof profile, the rake of the seating and proximity of fans to the pitch, in order to maximise the noise level and focus the crowd noise on the pitch. It was a key part of the club's brief to the design team and they made quite a bit of play of it in the promotional material at the time.

North london is a marsh. Any large structure will have pilling & a raft slab. The raft slab can be over 2m thick and reinforced with steel. On a few projects I've done in Docklands and the city the cost of the concrete foundations is far higher than the concrete in the cores and on the steel decking.

The heavier the structure and more it displaces the thicker the raft. Rule of thumb, I'm not a structural or geotechnical engineer

North London is emphatically not a marsh. Some areas of East and Northeast London are marshy, e.g., Docklands and parts of Hackney, but not N17. Much of North London, including Stamford Hill and South Tottenham, is built on shrinkable clay soil and thus has a subsidence problem, but that affects mainly pre-1900 buildings with shallow foundations and the common design solution is not a raft foundation, it is a piled foundation.

Archway know they're the last hurdle, and are hoping Daniel is willing to pay for their retirement, out of desperation to get the build started. I imagine, Levy won't be held to ransom and this will drag til Archway have nowhere left to turn and end up with the same or less than they could have had earlier.

One silver lining is, an extra few transfer windows to pay off the rest of the stadium! :bored:

I disagree. I think Levy will find a financial solution to this sooner rather than later. The amount of difference will be 'relative chicken feed' compared to some of the additional figures bandied about on some transfers.

I'm not sure. I think he'll stand firm, knowing that he will win this eventually. Little Danny is not a man to throw good money after bad.
Anyone know how long a typical high court challenge to a CPO takes?
I suspect that is not an answer you or I want to hear....
