Ah yes, that's right, my mistakeNo - it would be the South stand (where the current North is )
I'll believe the 62k thing when I see a fresh planning application, though

Did we ever get a final idea of the capacity or will the plans continue to evolve? All I want is more then the emirates, what ever number that could be.Like the sound of 62k
Appreciate all your updates in this thread. Has the football side been unaffected though? It seems otherwise, given recent windows even if you factor in an ever increasing wage bill. I for one expect the footballer side to be affected, but just wish it had been affected ten years ago. I'm desperate for this stadium to go up, I think when we are kids and choose our club it's either family, shirt colour, special player or stadium vibe that clinches the deal. In the early eighties we had average home crowds bigger than the scum, Salford, and that lot from down the kings road were an absolute non entity. This is my benchmark of where we should be and can be given the right strategy.
Yes it's been effected. We've barely spent anything net on players in the last 5 years. But have somehow managed to keep up there. People slag off Levy for this but for me I think it goes to show just how good Levy is. There is no-one who wants us to win more than Levy. For us it's the team we support and love, but for him he's not just a supporter it's his money/career/reputation.
He has gone through hardship with his wife being ill but still works his bollocks off for us.
For me he's made very few mistakes, although many believe Stratford and avb should have been avoided given the circumstantial evidence against both. I've supported all his other appointments bar Tim, and as soon as the prime contractor breaks ground on the stadium project itself I will reign in my criticism of levys record. Last year I did have the opportunity to feed some views in to the firm we appointed to market new stadium related sponsorship opportunities, and was quite impressed by the ppt pitch I saw.
Edit, sorry forgot the berba out and Frazier in debacle, crikey

IMO.. THFC was taken back into private ownership by ENIC so they could get on with the infrastructure of building the club to the level needed for a challenge, to top 4 in PL. Because the Stock Exchange regs. were restricting what they could do. We are about halfway, Enfield Training Ground built.. as stadium delayed by over 3 years (archway steel UK recession etc.) and the revenue from this and other sources. As Lilywhite says, some info. from D. Levy would be welcome, as he can encourage the supporters to reduce their criticisms of how ENIC are running our club. However they do not need to do so, as they own THFC and can do what they want to do within UK legal framework.
ENIC have improved THFC in that we are now about the 12th richest club in Europe, and starting to attract higher number of better quality players.. Hugo Lloris, as an example over say.. Ian Walker.
To be fair, we have yet to have the accounts for last season when the massive TV deal came into effect. Plus, we have been paying down debt.
There is no value in showing a surplus or profit as it will get taxed, which is why most clubs run at a 'perceived' loss as its cheaper to borrow money and pay interest on it than make profit and pay tax on it. The next set of accounts will probably show a small profit, £300k or something, but in the detail we will see enhanced expenditures on the stadium project or other 'costs'.
I expect things to not look too impressive until the stadium is built, and then things to be not too bad post stadium completion.
This is actually a really informative and well written post in my opinion. But to sum it all up, I think its clear for all to see that as things stand, a new stadium may be built, but no-one really knows how big or to what design. Equally, however, and much more worryingly, A new stadium may well not get built after all !Not sure if already posted but this might be a interesting simplified post from 'BathYid' on FTL regarding finances/stadium etc. All the following is his post and opinion I guess based on the accounts.....
----------------------------------------------------
Further to *****'s request about what THFC have said in public about the stadium and the way that they run the club. Most of the answers can be found in the annual accounts, which are posted with Companies House every year and THFC usually have tucked away on their website. They can be found at the link below
THFC Annual Accounts 2013http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/upl...cuments/Annual_Reports/annual-report-2013.pdf
I could obviously write a lot about the accounts. But the Stadium and whether Levy is hoarding cash, or even pulling it out of the club seem to be most people's main priorities so I will deal with those.
Stadium
Page 20, Section 9.
It basically says that as of June 2013 £35m has been spent on planning and design fees on top of £5m that has already been capitalised, so you have as of June 2013 £40m that has been spent on designing and planning the Stadium. It says if the Stadium doesn't go ahead this 'may need to be written-off' (that is accounts speak for this will almost certainly be written off except for the drawings).
It also confirms that ENIC bought non-core properties off THFC for £27.5m, which was a profit of £5m to THFC. Again, this is money from JL.
Loans/Money put in by Joe Lewis
Page 35, Section 25
August 2013, £50m loan facility made by Macon Ltd (owned by JL). £40m proposed to be turned into equity.
The effect of this is that the club don't have to pay it back, but will give JL more control of THFC (he already owns 85% so that is irrelevant anyway, so it's basically a gift to the club)
Cashflow
Page 10
It's fairly complicated as the club is clearly carrying out it's normal business as well as tidying up it's balance sheet, paying off certain loans and taking on other amounts from JL.
The business of football generated £14.2m in cash and due to the sale of the non-core properties we received £8m from asset sales (all from ENIC) and we repaid a £27m loan to bank of Scotland. On top of that we had tax and interest to pay of £7m, so we had a net outflow of cash for the year of £12m.
So when people say that ENIC are bleeding this club dry they couldn't be further from the truth.
They don't take any dividends (or haven't for years), they are injecting money into the club and are cleaning up the balance sheet so we aren't at the mercy of a bank to make our decisions for us.
And if you wonder why we aren't buying Falcao, it's because we are investing in the Stadium.
It is happening, it is clear from the accounts that it is happening and it is clear to me that a man like Joe Lewis would not be ploughing all the money that he is, £67.5m this year and on top of that £40m of design costs, if he wasn't going to build the damn thing.
And finally, after making his fortune in foreign currency trading, what has he made his second fortune in? Property. So don't tell me he doesn't build things or do property. His M&B investment has nothing to do with pubs, it's 100% a property play.

This is another conclusion where I can't work out how it has been reached.Equally, however, and much more worryingly, A new stadium may well not get built after all !

My apologies. But come on, it's extremely unlikely that a stadium won't be built at all- When it will be completed is a different matter.Page 20 section 9

Sounds like he's just referring to the old plans for the phased build to me - and wouldn't it be the north stand of the new stadium that would be completed last, due to overlapping the existing southern portion of WHL?
Just some food for though for anyone who might think 56k is too large a stadium for Spurs. QPR launched a consoltation today for their new stadium plans, the stadium will have 40k seats. Currently they have 19k seats and struggle to get over 18k fans to watch their miserable team (Sandro excluded). Why bother with so many seats, some might wonder? I believe that a large stadium is more than just a place for the fans, it's a status symbol, it's one of your most visible assets. A 40k stadium says to people all over the world watching on TV that this is a big club. It's why I favour a 60k seater stadium, the extra fans will make a difference of course, but it also puts us on the same level as the Man Utds of this world in the eyes of people watching. It'll also diminish the likes of Newcastle (and shortly West Hame) who appear to be a much bigger club than they are.
