Depends how much you have seen?

I haven't seen much to be honest.

West Brom
Norwich
Reading
Man U
Chavs
Maribor

+ highlights of most other games.

There was good and bad in all these games.

It's a bit early to draw too many conclusions.

Imagine if we lose this Saturday, then its the Pikey's at home (with a trip to Lazio three days before to contend with) who have just beaten Newcastle away  - doesn't bear thinking about.

Followed by Liverpool home, and then Fulham & Everton away. Dear God we had better improve fast or we'll be looking at drifting through the rest of the season mid table.

The next 5 fixtures are really big in my eyes as its all the teams in and around us even though the table is pretty congested.

If we continue to do poorly the pressure could really escalate for AVB, and obviously we want to avoid that.

A lot depends on players coming back from Injury but what does everyone think we'll take from:

  • Arsenal away
  • West Ham home
  • Liverpool home
  • Fulham away
  • Everton away
The festive period, thereafter, doesn't look too bad for us but how do you think we'll fair in these games? In my mind they're critical, the next 5 games are like a mini league and given that we've lost three of our last four we need to take a respectable amount of points from this list.

We will lose at arsenal
Draw if we're lucky at home to hammers cos they will be up for it as they hate us.
Liverpool maybe a draw
Fulham lose
Everton lose.

All in all a bit of a struggle it would seem.

They are very tough games, all of them! I would be over the moon with 9-10 points in all honesty, as others have said a lot depends on who we can put out.

Which decisions didst thou find so shocking?

His handling of the Lloris/Friedel saga started well - it's now become a joke IMO.

His substitutions have left alot to be desired. Wigan was shocking.

I'm also hoping he starts Ade more consistantly now.

Minimum 7 points from those games. As others have said, any less and the pressure will really be on. I hope for AVB's sake that Dembele is fit. We could also do with Benny and Parker back as well.

Great opportunity to put a gap on our nearest rivals for European spots.

I'll probably be proved wrong this weekend but I'll go with a positive mindset and say 11 points.

Depends on AVB.

We could take 15 or we could take 5. The more defensive bullshit I see, when you KNOW we can't hold out til the end, the less points we will get and the less matches I will watch.

You know what, I actually like these kind of fixtures for us. We've looked much better against teams that come out and play (even the Newcastle loss we played pretty well) and all of the above teams will come and play thinking they can get something from the game and I imagine the openness of all of these games will suit us. We've been better against United, Chelsea and City than we were against West Brom, Norwich and Wigan, despite losing 2 of the 3 games simply because the opposition were better. The teams above are not so good but will still come out and attack.

Mate i don't look at fixtures like that, you say we have hard games coming up and then an easier festive fixture list.

Well would you have predicted Man U an away win and Wigan a home defeat? which of those 2 fixtures did you deem easier?

I do get your point, but in the prem anyone can turn you over if you don't turn up and likewise you can beat anyone on your day, for me i don't look at our fixture list so much, i am more concerned with our INJURY list, that is far more crucial as to what we achieve IMO.

If Dembele gets fit then we may improve our performance and entertainment level and the points will follow. But AVB has to go for the win, starting next weekend at Arsenal. If he remains tentative, we could come away with a really paltry return from those five matches (a point per game or less). I can't imagine a nice atmosphere at the Lane if we follow a loss at Arsenal with a home defeat to West Ham....unless we lose despite an entertaining effort to take the game to them.
