Adding a bit more creativity is needed, question for me is do we have the funding for another CB and Striker as well. Hopefully working on all fronts and have the funds available, otherwise Damsgaard, although a talent, for me is a lower priority.

Think 30m tops is what we would do. I take it Sabitzer hasn't moved yet? Surprised we haven't heard much of him yet, a lot cheaper apparently. Arsenal linked with Maddison though and they're talking about 70m needed so values are all over the place.

A new number 10 is a tricky one. If Kane stays I think we're OK. If he leaves we need a 10 because we'll be minus Kane who has filled the void of Eriksen. The trouble is we have attacking midfielders already just not much creative types. Ndombele is the only one I think that could play the type of balls Eriksen or Kane do. Alli and Lo Celso more short passes and forward runs. The only position in this 433 that makes sense for Damsgaard is the Alli one where he's the most advanced of the 3. Although part of me would prefer to get a holding midfielder. Ndombele, Alli, Lo Celso and Skipp might have enough between them to create chances.

Supposedly Sabitzer is on his way to Bayern.

Not sure why we’ve gone cold or quiet on Sabitzer, bit of quality, experience and character there, price seems reasonable.

I would be very hesitant spending 40 million on this guy. Also, he will hardly stregthen our first 11. We need players like Romero who instantly raise our level.

I don't want to see us sign too much potential not enough proven quality.

Luxury we can’t afford right now. We need another CB, a real actual RB and a striker far more than another guy like this.

Can see why he wa
Swap for Bergwijn?

We need Bergwijn as well as a Striker and anther wide player who can play through the middle. Madueke being left footed is a big plus for me as he’d be different to our current options.

I am actually being serious by the way.
No I see what you mean, I think Steve could become, to lazily draw comparisons with Nuno's former club, a Neto-type for us. Full of pace, works hard and with an eye for goal, definitely not someone I'd look to sell before Nuno's given him a proper run. If it doesn't work out this season, put him on sale next summer.

He finally got a goal last night. He has been good throughout pre-season. Be a shame, just as he is starting to a get a run in an attacking side on the left, to ditch him.

Probably be negged for it, but I like him.

Neto only turned 21 in March of this year and is already leaps and bounds ahead of Bergs who is 24 in one month...

And sometimes players bloom later than others, either through development or through playing a system that plays to their strengths.

I never wrote that Bergwijn is as good as Neto, but give Nuno a chance to see if he can become that player before shipping him out.
