His price will have gone up quite alot after his performances at the Euro's so it could be quite an expensive one.

“I don’t know how much he’s worth right now because he is not for sale,” said Ferrero. “I am keeping a tight hold of him and we’ll help him to develop, because I want to make a healthy profit at the end of it. As far as I am concerned, he is worth somewhere between €30m and €50m. He has talent and he will go far,” he added.

Bizarre he would give such a wide range! At 30m it seems like a great deal. At 50m I don’t think we’re shopping in that range unless we’re spending Kane money.

Went to sampdoria last season for under 7m, they could make a nice tidy profit on him.
The likes of this signing should be where Paratici excels, knowing which Italian clubs need to raise funds and just as importantly which players they might not like to lose but would be willing to sell to raise much needed cash

€30m is around £25m so at that price it would be a great buy. The guy looks a serious talent and would be a great addition.

With Paratici now leading our transfers, I would be quietly confident that this will be done. I have no info on it but just a personal opinion that with Paratici's knowledge and connections in Serie A, this is the kind of deal I would expect us to be doing.

I really think this would be a fantastic deal.

Looks a superb talent and still only 20 years old. These are the types of signings that I like us making, aswell as Tomiyasu. Finding talented players at the smaller clubs who have earned their shot at playing at a higher level. Over the last 10-15 years this philosophy has been the source of nearly all of our better players:

Dembele, Eriksen, Bale, Son, Modric, Vertonghen, Wanyama, Walker etc etc the list goes on and on.

It is what Leicester have been doing to great success over the last few years and we need to get back to doing this.

One of the best players in his age group, Paratici might not be so bad if we get him and Tomiyasu.

We seemed to fall into the trap of claiming if a player doesn't improve your starting line-up then we shouldn't be buying but I think you're absolutely right. Sometimes that stand-out player is available and I'm sure once we're clear of COVID, we will have more to spend but more often developing your own stand-out player is the way to go, especially for a club like us, who prefer to spend conservatively.

I'd argue we've missed the boat on a number of players in the past 5+ years because we weren't willing to go early and give a player development time.

Totally agree, somewhere along the line we lost that part of our transfer policy and started to go for the "names" instead of the guys who are slowly going about their business at a very high level.
