It wouldn't shock me to be honest. I find it odd that we're doing these loan deals even if we're keeping Kane. We got Romero and Gollini on loan and used Lamela towards the fee for Gil. It sounds like we're working on a loan to buy for Traore too. Seems very similar to paying for Ndombele and loaning to buy Lo Celso. We need a recognised centre forward still and the situation with Inter seems like the perfect one for us to pounce on. Not going to expect anything but will at least keep the hope alive on this one. This could honestly be the one that makes this a great window and pushes us towards top 4 again.

Going for Traore suggests this is dead though doesn't it.

No way we sign Traore if we had intent to sign and play Martinez with Kane and Son.

We need options though. Gil and Traore give us the option to go with width. I don't think we will set with just one formation. In time Nuno will want to play about with different options. We need to rotate forwards, Kane needs to be protected or he'll get injured again, Son still blows hot and cold and Martinez will need time to settle in the league. Martinez is a centre forward really, he's not going to play anywhere near as wide as Traore. We need to replace Bale and Vinicius so no reason they can't both be signed.

No reason they can't both be signed apart from around 120 million. We do need options I agree but there is no way Spurs are spending 80 million on Martinez and 40 million on Traore this window. I'd love to see it but it won't happen.

By the looks of it every single deal we are doing is a loan with obligation, I think we are utterly skint. Kane going was the only way we were going big.

If we loan to buy Traore we leave enough this window is the point. We'll have a budget for each window.

I don't think our budget for this window is that high especially as we have other positions to focus on too. As I say, the biggest reason it doesn't make sense is because they both occupy similar areas of the field. We aren't signing Traore to warm the bench, then spending big money on Martinez, we then also have Moura and Berg in the squad.

Just can't see it, but hope I'm wrong!

Still think this one is not as dead as people are making out, but it's most likely contingent on Kane leaving.

Traore plays out wide, Martinez through the middle. They're really not the same position.

Contracts take a while I’m sure to write up and get done considering he will prob have a buyout clause and all that stuff out in, just don’t see how we get this over the line with our finances, would be super interesting if we ran what is a 4-2-4 on paper but Kane drops in deep and it turns into a 4-2-3-1 with lauturo up top and Kane dropping into almost a #10 role, Adama and son on the wings pinning teams back in, this would also allow Kane more room when he trails into the box, it would never happen but would be super fun, this is also why I should never be a manager at any level lol

Until Hotspur88 (or his tribute Hotspur33) tell me this ins't happening.... I still believe.
Can pretty much put the final nail in the coffin for this one mate. We were very confident but Lukaku all but ended any chance we had. We did still have contact after that but I haven't heard anything on it for a while so presume it's well and truly dead.

Fab said that correa is heading to inter, so I guess they will be rocking 3 strikers, shame we couldn’t get this one done, would’ve been a fun big name to get

If Kane stays, I'm not as disappointed as some.

Son and Kane are immovable and will generally always start. Gil can be given opportunities in the left of Son is out, rested or moved centrally. Scarlett will hopefully get some appearances on the left and centrally. Traore, should he come, can take the right side and alternate with Bergwijn.

I'd hope we can bring in another CF and with Lautaro being more of a wide forward, I don't think he's as imperative as Vlahovic for example. Although that one seems to have gone dead too.

Yeah, I’d rather we find an actual center forward type. That, along with a guy like Traore would give us a ton of options. Just haven’t heard a peep about an actual CF after Vlahovic petered out.
