business as usual. This club is going to kill me honestly. The usual of being losers.

It's like no one listened to what conte said and just projected their own thoughts

They were never going to listen. Sometimes you have to think they don’t really give a shit.

I want him to stay. Home truths needed to be said. We all seem happy to do it in a forum but finally we have someone that speaks like a fan. This guy is a serial winner who feels let down by Levy. Get him the players he wants. Ditch the ones he doesn’t and stop playing Russian roulette with contracts.

Ok so which youth/squad players are going to come in and instantly take us up a level? To be honest I just don’t see the quality there. All good blaming Conte for picking X, Y and Z but if there’s no better alternative then what’s he meant to do?
Which players are the cowards who Conte now says can’t play under pressure? Tell me that and I’ll answer you.

Shouldn’t matter how good the replacements are if that’s what Conte actually thinks, they shouldn’t be playing to begin with.

Since it’s now been clarified that his comments were solely about the players, I expect to see some actual changes instead of just playing the same old favourites every week. Give Danjuma a chance maybe??
Danjuma is simply imo not good enough to play for us even with the current downturn in form from our regulars. We took him away from Everton and I don’t know why.

That’s a total straw man to the debate being had. My point is Conte is taking zero responsibility or anything, I don’t care what some people said about wins earlier this season. Conte moans about mentality but as other people have pointed out most of the squad from yesterday have been here 2 years or less. If their collective mentality is weak, that’s on Conte.
12 out of 20 is not most.

Nothing straw man about it, it's in black and white, people won't give credit where its due but very happy to stick the knife in when it goes wrong.

Ive said plenty of times we should be doing miles better, and so should Conte.

I think I've misunderstood where you were originally coming from though

In general.

modern players are shit at taking criticism. Not used to having things go against them. It’s as true as it is pathetic.
I’m not sure I agree with this, the level of criticism taken to get to the point is probably fiercer than any other industry, every day of the week, these players grow up through criticism, of anything they get too used to it..

Genuine question - do you think a football club has institutional memory? Because 10 of yesterday’s players have been here 2 years or less, so I’d suggest if their mentality is weak that’s primarily on their manager

Honestly, and this is just my opinion, you’re either born with it or you aren’t.

Winner’s mentality is the perfect blend of desire and talent, matched with an undying need to continue improving. This isn’t something that’s merely “coached”.

So it’s difficult to attest it to one single entity in the club. One things for sure, Conte is a winner and he has that natural desire to win. The players? I don’t think so.

Some of them have won things when they’ve been surrounded by winners, but in our squad it seems to be a collection of losers. But I don’t think it’s every player either. The seniority dictates the mood and direction in the camp, so whilst people think it’s “only” Dier, Davies, Hugo etc their influence trickles down to the entire squad.

It’s a very nuanced subject, and although my post was just a joke it feels like that’s what’s expect by modern footballers. They have the money, so what else do they need to actually show up and win? The money should be the only motivation they need.

Why would his reputation be harmed though. Genuine question. He's won titles with different clubs and he'll walk into another big club. Surely we should be more worried about the clubs reputation and keeping Harry
Because contrary to what people on this forum seem to think, he has been a huge disappointment and has repeated all the toxic behaviours that made United think it was smarter to waste a year with Ragnick than hire Conte - and they were right.

When he’s off on a rant his English is perfect.

When he doesn’t want to answer, not so much.

funny.
You're right. Except for the part where his English is perfect when he's angry. The suggestion that he switches that on and off is ridiculous and that's being generous.

But you've found jackanory stick No239 to beat him with so fair play for that.

When everyone kisses your arse you like it when people start kicking said arse you dislike it . It’s basic human nature.

Hugo is a World Cup winning captain who has been captain for about 8 managers at spurs and France. I don’t think they all picked him because his weak attitude trickles down to the whole squads. Davies is universally recognised as a solid pro, so either Eric Dier is responsible for the mentality of the whole squad or this isn’t something that can be blamed on the same old players. I’ll take option B.

It would be intriguing to know who it is that the club have lined up, as Herc alluded to the other day as it might give us an insight as to why the club are not rushing into any decisions.
