Yep but do they have to wait to see the outcome of the hearing first or can they get rid of him now without some kind of unfair dismissal charge

That's the big question isn't it?

If the club expected the hearing to go ahead today and for him to go down (although I am sure I heard this is only the pleminaries and there is more in mid April) then it is going to massively mess with our timescale. But yeah, the fact he wasn't even mentioned in the club's statement is quite telling.

Juve are appealing the points deduction which gets heard on April 17th, I would imagine that'll have repercussions on how much/what aspects of the individual prosecutions they then pursue. If it gets thrown out then there's still the charges surrounding player payments Paratici has to answer though. Maybe that changes the type of punishment he gets and whether the club needs to give him severance or not, or something?

Just feel like it's yet more embarrassing incompetence that he isn't at least on gardening leave until this is resolved. How can a hundreds of million turnover per year business allow someone at this stage found guilty and punished for corruption just continue to work on important financial transactions.

Shambles how?

Sporting Director could be found guilty of corruption in football. We may have to wait until theres a verdict before making a decision on him and this could delay any search in a manager.

Sounds like a shambles to me.

Could. Already acquitted once.

we have a convicted criminal in another country who at the moment is found guilty until appeal running parts of our club and we haven't acted at all? you think that's not a shambles?

Convicted eh?

Let's see how it all pans out before jumping to conclusions eh? What MIGHT happen is irrelevant.

You've decided to compeltely ignore what I said.

It impacts the club and the search for a manager.

We may have to delay all until there is a verdict. It shouldnt be that we cant discuss next manager until mid may/early June.

No I didn't.

No it doesn't.

Again, you are theorising. The real world is calling.

Levy will hire the coach. We all know this. Apart from you.

And dont you see that that is a huge problem if Paratici continues or we get in a new DOF? Not a shambles no?

This seemed to go under the radar last night, but Paul O Keefe suggesting Paratici will get the boot over this case and he’s being cut out of the manager search.

Read a bit opinion at times, but he seems definitive he’s gone.

I feel conflicted on this one tbh. Just putting aside the issues with the case for one moment.

On the one hand regarding managers he’s completely useless. His picks are completely wrong for the club and our mission statement, I actually don’t understand how he can suggest some of the names he has. Also he has a history of struggling to sell players, but it doesn’t really help that the players we are trying to shift are just bad.

On the other hand I do think he is an excellent scout. I would have really liked to see who he could have brought in for a more attacking manager. The big irony for me is that he very much seems to prefer defensive coaches but when it comes to on pitch talent he actually seems to like flair players. Even at Juve he picked some excellent attackers even before he was DoF. And by all accounts he’s greatly improved our scouting set up which for a long time I feel has been incredibly unimpressive.

Ultimately yes it seems it was going to be an untenable situation considering his court situation. But I do think it’s a shame he has to go. What is vitally imperative is that we bring in a new DoF in advance of summer regardless of the manager situation.

I honestly can’t see how any club with any sort of plan, approach or intention can possibly hire a new coach/manager without the DoF position resolved first.

So we're back to Levy conducting a manager search again?! Awesome.

No, Levy and Collecott and Cullen. Even better.

I seem to remember around the time lots of ITK saying that when Poch was appointed that Levy had actually wanted Rafa Benitez and old man Lewis intervened and insisted on Poch. If those reports were true then the sum total of DL's managerial picks would be Harry Redknapp and accidentally appointing Martin Jol.

It's not a huge problem right now, why worry about tomorrow?

Overthinking it is only going to add to your misery mate. Live for the day you're in.

Paratici is getting on with his job. He's doing alright. Working for Spurs ain't easy.

He's done a good job but we need to sack him now. We need someone with a better vision for the club who will form an attacking philosophy. His individual signings have been good but not really in fitting with a balanced squad or a particular brand of football.

He's basically done ok, just below Commolli on the recruiting scale.

he has a history of struggling to sell players

The club has a history of struggling to sell out of favour players. Difficult to sell players at peak value if they're contributing to success and popular with the fans.

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head. He’s clearly a brilliant chief scout, and in a role similar to what Hitchen had I would keep him no problem.

He’s improved the club structure, given us an actual youth strategy for the first time in years and our scouting has come on leaps and bounds. He has an excellent eye for talent and I think on incomings he’s picked good player and structured good deals.

But his track record selling players is abysmal frankly and he clearly isn’t great at the thing which ultimately makes you a great DoF - building a club image and direction and hiring the managers to do it.

Personally, the court case makes it imperative for him to go. I’d do it now, hire Tim Steidten as Sporting Director with Nagelsmann as coach and build a young, aggressive team in the model of the best teams in Germany.
