And to be fair that is exactly what I've heard from that side of the fence. I think their heirarchy are completely underestimating Levy. Either that or they are actually prepared to bid a lot higher than they are letting on. Which is also possible.

So he may be right, unless he's one of theirs that has said it's all agreed and just not announced for what ever reason. In which case he's miles off. Miles and miles and miles.

There was a theory earlier that City are waiting until the last minute to pay up in the hope it leads to us missing out on replacements. Would explain why they are still so confident and it does seem like Martinez and Vlahovic could be slipping away.

Alternatively they could just be so used to getting their way that they are oblivious to how much Levy will be willing to push them in negotiations.

That is also Kane's picture from last season photoshopped onto the new kit.

They at least photoshopped him a bit paler to match Welsh Ben's torso :D

Is anyone else surprised City didn't sign Tammy Abraham for £34 million? After all with Pep's famed coaching ability he could easily turn him into.a £160 million plus forward.

What I don’t understand is, why do the media or pundits never ask about the Man City youth teams?

They’ve spent millions on it yet it’s hasn’t yielded many players, let alone a single PL striker in recent years.

Not sure they’d risk missing out on Kane, messing up their CL chances, the only thing they want…just to slightly damage the season of a team that finished 7th and a load of points behind them (Also a team they’ve played and lost to already).

What if we are fucking then about, have no intention at all of selling Kane, but stringing them along all summer so that they miss out on buying any striker at all? Thereby weakening them.

If they think they know the price and are willing to pay it I could see that. He'd only miss a PL game against Norwich and wouldn't be cup tied for CL even if he played on Thursday.

I suspect it is likely misplaced optimism on their part that Levy will eventually buckle and sell his wantaway player at whatever they bid.

My whole point isn’t that it would be delayed a week, it’s that messing us about could cost them the signing completely. We wouldn’t be the first team to change the terms late in the window. I don’t believe even City would take that risk, putting a potential CL on the line, just to mess with us.

I hope we do. Either absolutely rinse them on the fee or stop them signing him altogether.

I personally think it is arrogance from them if they think at the last minute they can offer what we wanted to even have a dialogue.

Why don’t they just buy a £50m striker and Pep uses all of his amazing coaching abilities and turns him into the £150m striker they so desperately want.

This is rhetorical by the way. We all know why.
