Great start to the Masters by some of the Brits. Rose is sharing the lead on 4 under, Westwood is 3 under and Poulter is 2 under after the first 18 holes. Tiger is back on level par.

Oh and Poulter hit a beaut of a tee shot on 16

What a hole in one by Poulter though!!
Rose doing well, great start, which I'm sure he had last year.

Would be good to see him get a masters so soon.

Can we not mention Poulter on here as he's a massive fan of the woolwich wanderers, great hole in one though.

You are correct Shanks, Rose was joint leader this time last year.

I watched a chunk of it last night...shot of the day for me was Woods 2nd on the 17th I think..his drive had put him behind a load of trees, a veritable forest if you will. He cracked a low hook punch shot over the bark like coverage on the ground and under the branches and rolled up to just in front of the green...absolutely fucking freakish...

Have you noticed the amount of fat americans with bumbags there are in the crowd.

I've never played golf but always enjoy watching these big events. The scenery is stunning.

I guess fatties are unique to the US and Britain isn't suffering from obesity too... You should look at the crowds in English events too, tis quite a laugh watching fatties with scraggly teeth shouting the C word at every opportunity.

Do we have many golfers here? I play a fair amount and hit a few practice balls almost every day in my garden. They're just brightly coloured sponge balls as my dogs play fetch. Some friends of mine & I are going to play Valhalla this summer which is where the Ryder cup is being hosted this year.

Mickelson is my pick. Nicely placed, and looks like he's hitting the ball very well, and untypically for him, straight.

He's had the lead or a share of it, 3 out of the last 4 years, I think they said. Nicely poised tournament. Would be great to see someone new win it.

They call day 3 at a golf tournament "moving day". And Tiger has moved. I've been keeping track of the odds all day on betfair and he has been the favourite for a good part of the day despite being a few shots back. He has never won a major when he was behind going into the last day so thats one record he's going to have to break. Should be a good last day.
