I really like the guy but he did look erm stocky yesterday when he was topless - not as stocky as me obviously cos im awesome but yeah he has been hanging with Ndombele too much

I was going to post the same thing! It was by comparison with Lamela, who was getting ready at the same time, that made it apparent, that Bergwijen was carrying a bit of body fat, that perhaps he shouldn't. Lamela looked absolutely shredded, whilst Bergwijn clearly had a layer of fat that you wouldn't expect on a top level pro. You can tell someone like Lucas, is going to be as shredded as Lamela and I think it's that level of professionalism and commitment that Bergwijn will need to displace him in the starting line up.

He just seems to have a very solid all round game, most of all his decision making when he has the ball is excellent

Big season ahead for Stevie B! I truly hope that he starts ahead of Moura in non-top 6 matches in the league. His threat off the ball and running into spaces will be so important. Hope hes been practising 1-on-1 finishing as I fully expect Dele, Lo Celso and Kane to provide plenty of assists his way.

Love him. Time will show if Kane - Son - Bergwijn can become some sort of 1+1+1 = 7, but I don't see why not. Not sure if Son is especially "football intelligent", but he is not bad - Kane always plays better with intelligent players around him.

Underrated part of this guy’s game is his passing ability. I remember he played a 30 yard ball in perfectly over the top to Dele no sweat. Weights crosses and reverse passes really well too. A lot of wingers have pace but that deft touch on a final ball at speed is so difficult, you almost have it innately or you don’t. Bergwijn without a doubt has *it* and he’s going to be big time this year.

He has a rare combination of speed, strength, trickery and creativity. He could be something really special if it all comes together consistently. Still needs time though, he's only 22.

I hope his unselfishness and decision making rubs off on the other attacking players. I'm always shocked when I see Kane, Son or Moura taking a shot instead of passing the ball for an easy goal or when we mess up a counter attacking opportunities in which we have the advantage in numbers. When Stevie plays I feel like he'll make the right decision in the attacking third 8/10 times.
