Was very poor by his standards, but I said this in the son thread. Despite what the commentators would have you believe, he was sold massively short of son’s ability to hold onto a relatively easy ball (twice) and a shocking ball by Porro. Both son and Porro should be apologising to him as they sold him short and the media will miss these vital points

He was also covering for Romero not paying attention. For me, Vdv is one of the easiest to forgive today.

If anyone deserves slack, it’s Micky.

He’s been immense. Everyone has bad days, he’s saved our asses more than enough to have credit in the bank, even after today

feel sorry for him.

the amount of last ditch shit he has to sweep up every week, he's bound to make a few mistakes now again.

Seen worse games from prime Ramos (usually involving a red card), it happens. Probably his first game here where he couldn't do anything correctly.

He's a bright prospect, with all the pundits singing his praises. We'll have a problem if he starts to feel he's being hung out to dry, expected to use his pace all the time to bail out badly thought out tactics. Same with Porro.

He had a shocker, no hiding from that.
Unfortunately it probably wont be the last time either. If you set your team up like we do, theres massive emphasis on him as the recovering defender.
Due to his size and speed he is likely to get turned by the trickier strikers and thats when his partner should be there to back him up. Thats just not going to work with our style of play and Micky just being that much faster than the rest.
Rio Ferdinand analysed it perfectly, he is just raw pace and hasnt learned how to slow his feet down which makes it more likely that he slips and falls again when against a tricky striker.

Big rare off day for Micky today, he’ll learn from it and improve.

Agreed, but what worries me is the lack of confidence/form/(down to tiredeness?) that seems to be spreading throughout the team in general. I really can't think of a single player at the moment who is playing anywhere near the top of his game. I just hope VDV's poor game against the bar codes doesn't become a habit, going forwards. He's the last player standing, in terms of optimum form.

One bad game does not make a bad season. Even the elite CBs and players have off days, Saturday was just his time for one. Still up there as player of the year for us in my opinion.

Definitely. Was properly sat down on his arse twice, but have every faith that he will learn from it as he's been excellent throughout.
