in the sense that while the 61 double final the 63 euro final etc were all greater events - I can never remember us being such underdogs in a final before - in my lifetime (goes back to the 50s) we've always been favourites or only slight outsiders if at all -

I guess you have to go back to 1901 when we won as a non-league team against a Div 1 team for such a massive upset

Spurs won against one of the most expensive teams in the world and this fact alone speaks volumes.

Chelsea's players wanted to win it as they dreamt to make a quadruple.

Just because they've spent that, doesn't mean they're worth that.

I agree, that for me is the greatest cup final victory, taking into account modern day football and dominance of the 'big 4'. To be such underdogs and not only beat Chelsea, but deservedly beat them and out battle them is a magnificent achievement. Hopefully when we look back on this in a few years it will have greater significance as it could be the stepping stone for bigger and better things!

Possibly. They have such an array of talent though and the best squad in the league in my opinion and in that respect, it probably was.

Just shows the ineptness of the manager tbh. If it was me, I would get rid of Drogba. Think it would be the best thing Chelsea could do and maybe then they'll stop playing 1 up long ball football....dirty scum

It's the first time any team outside the top 4 has beaten one of the top 4 in a final since Everton won the FA cup in 1995, that makes it at least the best win by any club in 13 years. The last time it happened in the league cup was Aston Villa beating Man U in 1994.
