I rarely think this about a player but Huddlestone has the potential to be a footballing great.
If you asked any football manager what type of player would make the perfect 'holding' midfielder they would tell you a giant of a man who could dictate the play.
This is exactly what Huddlestone is.
He has the passing ability to become the Carrickesque playmaker as well as the size and strength to plonk himself in front of the back four and stop the opposition.
Forget about mobility, it is unnecessary in that role, the only thing that Huddlestone lacks is experience and the self-belief to control the game at the highest level.
But one look at the U21's will show you that once he has that confidence and learns more about the positional side of the game we will have a top player on our hands who can really boss the middle.
