If the Carling Cup winner gets Champions League qualification, the UEFA spot goes to a league placing (6th? 7th? whichever...)

Looks like it's Chelsea then - if they play like they did today and we play like we did yesterday, we'll walk it...

I liked the shape Chelsea kept but against Everton it wasn't going to get many goals - they only had Joe Cole looked like he was interested in winning, everyone else wanted to settle that with the score as it was, just don't let the Toffees score.

Shame, it could've been a good game, you could see how frustrated Anelka was getting as the second half kicked off in the same vein, his shoulders had dropped already.

We need to shut them down quickly, so more Teemu and JJ like we saw yesterday, King mopping up like the world champion caretaker, i'll be happy come the 25th

Everton aren't really that good. I think this is the best Everton can get, i don't think they can get better than they already are.

While i agree the atmosphere there wasn't anywhere near as good as ours, the Chelsea fans were right below the commentary team so they were always gonna sound louder than they probably were if you were there. Even when there was a massive roar when Everton got a corner, it still didn't sound that loud.

As for the match, would've preferred Everton, and i think we'll lose to a typically organised Chelsea team, but it'll be a good match. Hopefully our fans will stay til the very very end no matter what, unlike the Blackburn game in 2002, where Blackburn lifted the trophy in front of half a stadium. I don't think that'll be a problem this time, cos we're the underdogs and expected to lose, so i'm sure everyone will stay behind and give the team the praise they deserve for getting there. Blimey, i sound like we've already lost.

But i would love it if we beat them. Imagine that, Arsenal & Chelsea done over on the way to lifting the cup. It's the stuff wet dreams are made of.

Most of the country are going to be cheering on Chelsea so it opens up that UEFA Cup place in the league!!

not sure about that...no-one likes chelsea apart from chelsea fans

Don't get me wrong...very much a hated side these days....and rightly so....but I imagine any fans of a top ten side will be rooting for the Blue Scum just so it opens up that elusive UEFA cup place in the league...rather than us taking it by winning the cup!
