A challenge like that in rugby, with both feet off the ground and a player in mid-air is a minimum sinbin if not red card., on the basis of it being so dangerous. How this isn’t even a penalty is ridiculous. Football officiating stinks at the moment.
Which, as commonly happens when talking about how a players goals affects results/points, ignores the fact that if he wasn’t playing, Brentford wouldn’t be playing with 10 men, they’d have a replacement. Given that they’ve won two and drawn one (which was a last min equaliser against them) I...
It goes without saying how bad that first half was, but I’m really disappointed we’ve not allowed the fans to sit in a position that can be seen on screen. Watching this match and hearing fans but only seeing sponsors sort of sums up our owners currently.
Not even make them sweat when defending a 1-0 lead in a final is criminal. Most teams would at least have that ‘one’ chance - we didn’t even come close to a sniff of doing that. How underwhelming.
Losing so many points from winning positions and not being able to come from behind to win, is for me the definition of a team disengaged with their manager. The quality in the squad will result in taking the lead, the lack of direction thereafter is the direct result of bad management and tactics.
I wonder if the fact we may be clearing out some of the ‘bad eggs’ a couple of which are English and homegrown, means that a move for Ings would be more likely, if only to fulfil the homegrown quota?
Not really sure what team we are anymore. What's our playing style? I can't remember the last time we took a match to the opponent and forced them to react to us.
We feel so....predictable. There's a clear blueprint to beat us and all of our losses this season (and last) feel oh so familiar. This squad needs a defensive shake up. Right now our FBs are players who I would class as good backups but for such an important position we need an upgrade for the...
And here lies the problem of not having the on-pitch ref look at the screen himself for VAR. I’m willing to believe that if Kavanagh had watched that replay himself he would have at the very least given us the free kick. I’m not sure Oliver was aware the ref had initially given the advantage...
