Not really. He does a thing right at the start of the run before he even starts moving, then he actually approaches the ball normally.
Momentum at the point of impact is the issue. It's just a lot harder to kick the ball hard if you stuttering right up to it.

Over the long term, it's mad how much this fixture has changed. We were on a par (at most) 8/10 years ago. Now if we don't win, even away from home, it's a terrible result. They haven't even been particularly poorly run either.

At its most basic, speed the game up when you need a goal, slow it down when you're winning. It winds me u when they sprint round to get a ball when we're holding on to a 1-0 lead.
