    2023/24 - The Race For..................

United will be lucky to keep the score against them under doubles figures, let alone win.

The question with Richy for me is fitness, as his season has been pretty disrupted by it. If the club is confident that his injury problems are fixed then I'd definitely keep him, that period he was actually fit this season he was doing great.

Just to add some perspective, Richy's goals per minute this season is more than twice as good as Solanke's.

Don't expect either of them will be here in September.

Player Watch Player Watch: Giovani Lo Celso

Was just looking at his games played and noticed that Lo Celso hasn't started a game since NYE, which seems pretty significant to me. I think we were probably going to sell him in January, but then he got injured and was out for the whole window so couldn't.

To me that line-up (in midfield especially) says "fatigue management".

    Manager Watch: Ange Postecoglou

Very few teams in the world can afford to buy a ready-made superstar striker, even after they've sold one. If we want someone as good as Kane again we need to do the thing we've been good at doing for a long time now - finding talent and developing them.

Much like Son I doubt Richy is interested in going to Saudi, especially given how unhappy a lot of the big signings have been this past year. The only person who seems happy there is CRonaldo and that's because they're giving him masses of extra leeway.

    Match Threads Spurs vs Arsenal

I doubt any of the current reffing pool would have the stones to do it, especially when a title challenger is the one scoring the goal.

IMO it's easier to believe that there's a deeper problem than every analyst & coach at the club not being acutely aware that there are issues with us conceding set pieces.

    Manager Watch: Ange Postecoglou

What if he is doing things in training and they're just shitting the bed on the pitch? That would point to there being problems other than set piece training, no?

    Match Threads Spurs vs Arsenal

I can 100% see him wimping out of looking at it so he doesn't have to rule out their goal and give us a Pen instead, even if that would be the correct call.

    Match Threads Spurs vs Arsenal

I'm worried that all the unpunished physical abuse he took at the start of the season has got him hesitating, when was the last time you can remember him trying to carry the ball & break the lines? Or even have a pop from range?

    Match Threads Spurs vs Arsenal

He's been massively off the pace since he came back, the amount he has been slowing down play by holding onto the ball for too long hurts the team massively.

Quite a few sloppy passes at the start but he doesn't let that stop him trying stuff, good to see that lack of fear in him.

    2023/24 - The Race For..................

Same as the CL - one big "league" where every team plays 8 games. Top 8 get a bye, next 16 play-off to see who plays them, regular knockout format from then.

Player Watch Player Watch: Son Heung-min

Out of everyone I think you could forgive Son for just plain being a bit knackered at this point. Games for us + The Asian Cup all the way to the final + flying back for even more Internationals is a lot of not just matches but also air miles to have put on this season. If Richy wasn't injured I...

    Match Threads Newcastle vs Spurs

Nah they were all over us everywhere for long periods of the match, only really dropping off later in the halves to conserve energy. Set out to chase down & harass from the first minute and it worked a treat, we totally failed to find any rhythm or patterns of play. Even when they did sit back...
