Well we bought Richarlison when we had Kane.
No reason in theory we wouldn't be prepared to sign a striker whilst Richarlison is still on the "open to offers" list.
We have to make some decisions about Son; his future and his primary position.
But whatever those plans we should be looking to...
We’ve been rebuilding for 5 years.
Deadwood we’ve been trying to sell for half a decade.
They’ve got 4 managers and one care taker sacked.
We’ve got some truly fantastic young players on the horizon in 1-2 years, but we need a huge summer to stop this unraveling.
We need to sell and take...
I think the two factors you've highlighted with what appears to be scattergun scouting are:
1) There are very few finished articles suited for our single pivot no.6 role. The only two I can think of are Palinha and Locatelli. So which aspects do we then compromise? Physical dominance, creative...
I'd like to see Kulu as a false 9.
Receive it back to goal then either lay it off or turn and carry it.
Have some hold up and technical ability centrally again with pace and breaking lines from out wide.
Sarr, Johnson, Son given licence to bomb on past Kulu. Porro and GLC to look for through...
Black, Baptiste, and Ajayi will all be 18 in the summer so move up from the U18 group automatically.
Also in their year group are Rowswell, King, Wilhoft-King, Arganesse-McDermott, Irow, and Akhamrich.
And goalkeepers Krasniqi and recent England U18 call up Carey Bloedorn.
Hall in the same...
And the operative phrase from mine being "not nailed on."
Maybe you're right, we'll see.
Anything above £15m and market rate signing on fee / wages is overpaying imo.
Would they be willing and able to do that with limited FFP wiggle room?
I expect CL may be the deciding factor for any...
If they want to give him a £10m signing on fee, they're welcome to him.
I'd estimate his market value to at around £15m right now.
But either way Hull can only sell him to where the player wants to go to.
So are they going to turn down £15m+ add ons knowing he could go for less at any time...
So would I but that player has to be obtainable.
Same goes for the winger position.
If those top class upgrades aren't obtainable at DM (Ederson, Onana, Zubimedni) or WF (Williams, Neto, Kvara) then we're looking at either better value (Fofana, Chiesa, Lauriente) or longer term upgrades...
If Eze joins us at all I would think it would be as 1st choice LWF and/or rival Maddison for number 10.
Going by credible links and ITK we seem to want 1) a versatile AM/WF (Eze, Baena, Olmo),..
2) A specialist WF (Nusa, Williams, Neto)..
..and 3) a number 9 (Giminez, Zirkzee, Solanke).
Then...
It should also be noted that ITK and the press have strongly linked us to:
Baena, Gibbs-White, Eze, Gudmunsson, Sudakov.
All essentially no.10s who can play wide - specifically right footed and probably off the left in contrast to Kulu.
We've also been linked to that classic all out dribbler...
I agree with all of that, and I'd rather keep Gio and loan the youngsters out also.
My point is we can't sustain a specialist back up 10 in the squad, for precisely the same reason Gio will be leaving.
They're not going to get enough game time.
Not enough match rhythm to hit form and...
