Here, watch the video bellow. The kid has insane technical ability for a CF to the point he's been played wide left a number of times. He has 10 league goals in 20 games at only 18. He can play with ether foot and shoot from distance. He also has the physical strength of someone 5/6 years his senior. Not only that he has creative vision, he has played as an AM in the past, and he tracks back and does the dirty work. The kid is going to be a mega star IMO and nobody is really talking about him outside of Turkey. Not sure why.

Crikey, he looks very tidy and exactly the type of player and at the right stage, that we should be targeting.

A bit off topic but what are your thoughts on Veliz? Had you seen anything before he came to us?
From the little I've seen, he looks promising but it's such a small sample size that it's hard to really judge his strengths and weaknesses.

Honestly Semih is like an Aguero regen. I know its still very early in his career but i'm very impressed with him. Worth also noting that Besiktas are having a really bad season by their standards, they are currently in 5th, and recently sacked their manager Fernando Santos so its not as if he's performing in a well functioning team. Time will tell how he develops but I honestly think he has big potential, i hope he moves to a tougher league soon.

Veliz is like your prototypical target man. Very good in the box not particularly remarkable out of it. In the games i watched i was never overly enamoured with his technical ability but he looked to have great drive and would always try to get on the end of everything. TBH he actually surprised me somewhat in the short cameo's for us as he looked a bit better on the ball then I was expecting given what i'd seen prior. In general i would have preferred a player like Marcos Leonardo and I said so at the time and now I would prefer a player like Semih BUT i do think Veliz could develop into a very good target man as he seems to have the mentality. I just think he needs to go on loan and start week in week out next season, ideally in the PL. We really fucked up his loan to Savilla, I said at the time i wasn't sure it was right for him due to their other options but then i looked like a bit of a mug when they gave him the 10 shirt. Unfortunately my concerns were justified. I just hope he doesn't end up being another Gil who's development we handled horribly.

Interesting

Complete speculation on my part but I wonder if we were watching Dario Osorio? He’s a 20 year old Chilean right winger. Left footed and in the footage I’ve watched seems to have a very similar playstyle to Pedro Neto…

He’s one of the best young players in the league so wouldn’t surprise me if we were looking at him. Didn't have a good game tho apparently he was poor, got subbed off at half time. Apparently we had scouts at the Porto game as well.

Turkey and Norway really do have some fantastic youth prospects coming through - love the kid Uzun at Nuremberg as well (know you've mentioned him previous);

Nypan for me will be a superstar - glides Modric-esque and a real cool head on young shoulders and would love an axis of him and Bergvall in tandem.

The ability to go either side of the full back couple with that burst of pace - kid's a baller!

Uzun has insane ability on the ball. Its a shame he has zero defensive instinct, he really needs to improve that side of his game but going forward he's electric. He certainly needs to be carried a bit currently tho. Crazy numbers he has this season.

I really need to watch Rosenborg, i've read so many glowing reports and seen the clips but haven't actually got round to watching a full game of his. He looks like a very talented kid tho and i know he's very highly rated.

@Ghost Hardware totally get what you’re saying in your post. I just worry what happens if we don’t elevate the starting 11 quality enough. Love Doue for example but he probably won’t be ready to start and that could leave us in a position where Son plays LW which would mean we’re going to be poor out wide still.

Ideal scenario is we sign players like Doue and they explode on to the scene.

At 18 it's an area of his game that can absolutely be coached into him but certainly has prodigious talent.

It easily describes many promising young Turkish players. :ROFLMAO: Brilliant prospects that never quite reach their full potential.

It's putting into place a system at Spurs where there's a conveyor belt of talent coming through - either procured externally or via our own youth setup - with clear pathways for progression and ultimately meaningful game time in the first team.

It's why I really do think for our current crop of youngsters being in the Europa League could prove so much more valuable to their development than if we bypassed it into the Champions League restricting Ange's ability to provide them minutes.

All for going for top under 18's as our MO, nurture them or purchase and loan back with them eventually being HG.

To link back to your point on Son, we really do need to have adequate succession planning for him and have that in place this summer as an eventual replacement 1-2 years down the line as opposed to flog him to death and then look for a ready made replacement.

Some really good stuff in here the last few pages, going by the videos some very talented young players suggested, thanks to all the posters who contributed videos and opinions

I honestly have a feeling Doué would be challenging for a starting spot next season. Every game I’ve watched of him recently he’s really impressed me. His ability on the ball is insane and he seems an extremely clever player.

I liked his performances in the Breton derby this weekend for example. First half he was playing wide left often as a touchline winger running into the box and taking players on with great success. He essentially got an assist but he won’t get credit as the GK touched it. In the second half he was moved to a deeper CM position halfway through and it was a nicely controlled performance again easily moving past players with the ball but with more emphasis on passing.

I know he will have only just turned 19 and you’re right it might be a gamble and we don’t want Son starting LW but I think Doué could surprise us. Just a hunch. And i think Albert could also play well there if we wanted more experience.

Like I said, I’d hardly be upset with Nico, Chiesa or Baena, they are all fantastic players. Bar Chiesa tho I just don’t see us getting two of them and imo we would need both Nico & Baena not just one. Idk I just have this feeling that Albert and Doué would be excellent for us but I could be completely wrong and I completely get wanting an AAA winger. I’d certainly be over the moon with one.

I’m just thinking about how we could maximise our squad build within a reasonably feasible budget.

For sure, I think whichever club he moves to this summer will demand it of him. He isn’t a lazy player just very attack focused. It will be very interesting to see how he goes next season.

Turkey’s front line is set for a decade tho LW - kenan, CF - Semih, SS - Can, RWF - Arda

With Kokcu pulling the strings behind them at the grand old age of 23!

I love the look of Doue as I’ve mentioned to you, so you’ve twisted my arm, I’m in! Haha

Mitchell Weiser of Werder Bremen always looks very good as well. He's more of a right wing back but possibly similar to Porro. He's 30, but I'd say he's a very youthful 30 and pacey. He was at Bayern in the past and was instrumental in their defeat earlier in the season.

Pepelu at Valencia could be a good option at DM. Tall, good range of passing and strong in the tackle. Also, takes their pens and set pieces.
