I think it's probably a far better move for Nusa's development.

€30m on an 18 year old is a huge risk for a club like Brentford......makes me wonder if they've sold Toney?

They tried to sign Bakayoko from PSV last summer so I think they’ve always been after a young exciting winger.

Nowadays PL clubs like Brentford can comfortably spend that amount.

Haha no we didn’t clubs line fed to pok . Brentford have agreed a fee and the player has accepted to go there it’s not done yet it’s upto Tottenham now match it and it’s ours however I don’t think this will be the case now . seems that bidding war they wanted they got. Formally the price in line was 22m and we would wait until July for him to come ange then wanted him now and the price went up instantly which put back the deal slightly which is normal and the player was open to that but preference was waiting . Brugge then turned the screw last week opening up the deal inviting other clubs and Brentford have bitten it. Nusa I would imagine sees himself playing week in week out under frank which then regardless gets him a major move in 2/3 years. Transfers are never ever certain regardless of how advanced they are.

Hopefully we go for Bakayoko in the summer.

Maybe that’s half of it, but given how we’ve been recently it doesn’t stack up.

Agree, could well be we're looking at putting that £25m into a young but proven player who can raise our level now, not in 2 or 3 seasons time.

Well that's that then. I can only hope we have another player lined up.

Why? If he’s good enough he will play, like Pape and Udogie. He also could be our Son replacement for years.
Because €30m must be quite a substantial chunk of Brentford's transfer funding.......I wouldn't imagine Brentford could afford to take a lot of the risks that other teams can (having said that, I haven't looked at their accounts lately, so perhaps they can and I'm underestimating their financial position).

*edit: Just taken a quick peep at their financials, and in 2023 FY they had a turnover of ~£140m with a profit of ~£30m. So, depends how you look at it - €30m is a huge chunk of their turnover, but less than last FYs profit (assuming all else stays the same).

People jumping on the Levy hate parade, you don't get every player that you go in for.

Maybe we need a player now and Nusa won't come now. Maybe Bruge want a big sell on % which we're not willing to give. Maybe Nusa thinks he's more likely to get more playing time for Brentford.
Maybe this is Bruge way of pushing us to give them what they want.

We've done some awesome business of late, people were the same when we missed out on Raya, look what happened there.

We can't blame Levy for every failed transfer, not without knowing the full details.

I'm not a Levy fan boy bye the way, I just try and apply logic rather than hatred.

Potentially banking on selling Toney.
