IF he goes to Brentford it really can't be painted any other way than disappointing if we are going on ITK info.

If he goes to Brentford shows the attitude and self belief in himself. Or maybe we are trying for bigger eggs. What will be will be, said Doris Day.

You just know he’ll be a superstar there and get a move to Chelsea/Utd/City in a few years 🤣

€30m for one of the most exciting wingers in Europe wasn’t a lot at all.

Hopefully we have someone else lined up, but I can’t lie I’m disappointed we haven’t managed to get him.

Trying for someone else isn’t exactly how we have been operating this window. We identify our targets and move quickly. Not jump around.

why would he go to Brentford, when he has already previously rejected Chelsea, is being monitored by every elite club in Europe, and is in talks with us? It makes no sense. If we don’t sign him in Jan, he is more likely to assess his options in the summer than sign for a mid table prem team now.
Most likely because we have never been very serious? And have pulled out. I found it quite unrealistic to be honest, that Levy would ever greenlight 30 mill for a potential 18 year old, we have probably offered 10 or max 15 :)

I hope you’re right regarding the twists and turns but the main source who broke the news said he’s opted for Brentford .. also backed up by Jan Aage Fjortoft.. this is done
Unless we now step into the frame with a bid of our own?

And although we've all whipped ourselves into a bit of a excited frenzy about this lad, we don't know how hard we were actually in for him.
For all we know, we might have seen an opportunity, had a sniff, then decided it's wasn't for us.

I'm sure that if we really want him, we can beat Brentford for his signature, so it's not that we've "fumbled" this, more that we've decided against it.

So maybe we've been pursuing our no1 target and it'll come out of the blue like Werner, and Nusa was the backup plan? We just don't know yet

Come on, considering the ITK or at least constant posts in this thread there have been more than just tentative enquiries on Nusa - let’s not gaslight now
It’s not gaslighting when it was said Ange really wanted him and was seen as a star of the future and Son’s long term replacement.

Surely if we wanted him that bad we’d get him over Brentford.

The key part of this it appears is that Ange wants him now. If we can't agree with him and his club for that to happen then we have decided to move on. As I said earlier hopefully we will go for Rowe and we can get that deal done before the window closes.

I'll only view this as a real disappointment if we don't manage to bring in a new wide attacker which Ange is clearly prioritising.

Just a gut feeling, but I think those assuming we’ve pulled out due to something better falling in our laps, are going to be sorely disappointed.

I don't get why people think this is such a strange one. A move to Brentford, a PL club who will offer good playing opportunities for a young player like him, seems a really sensible move for a player like him at this stage of his career. Fair play to him. There's no embarrassment for us here - sometimes players pick playing time above club status.

Yeah, I’m pretty relaxed tbh.

Highly unlikely from what we have been hearing, it has been touted we wanted him as a long term Son replacement.
