I know we're not where we want to be as a club, success-wise, but it shows you how we've progressed, because in the 90s Eric Dier would have been a bit of a club legend. Both in his attitude and his ability. He's still a very solid player, who has played at the highest level his entire career.

Anyway, not to regurgitate the same thing over and over but... always liked him as a person. He's been a real pro, a proper stalwart for us. All the best to him.

Not to mention those who wanted Sonny sold last season.
Yes... for me it's the personal abuse I don't get... I don't mind people saying players don't fit in with the style/manager or they are not happy with effort or performances... or they would like another player instead.

Dier has definitely had his share of personal abuse. Sadly.

Great news for all concerned and I hope he goes over there and absolutely cements himself into the team.

Good luck to our Anglo - Portuguese Viking Eric - Spurs through and through - should have had a testimonial. I now have a favourite I want to win the CL...

Good luck Eric. He always gave his best and was clearly a popular part of the team, certainly during the Poch years.

I take it on social media? He's been typically well received in the stadium whenever I've gone. Had a few of his chants ring out around the stadium. I think a lot of players get abuse online but they do well to ignore it anyway.

I wish him nothing but the best. He's been a model professional throughout and if he wins anything this season at Bayern, good luck to him. He's looked so miserable not being wanted, I hope he's happy there. Harry will help him settle in I'm sure. I hope the fans there sing the 'I love Eric Dier' song to him one day. A lovely guy who deserves more than we could give. It's not his fault that he doesn't fit in with our style of play now. He's still a good footballer and I'll always love him!

Good luck to the fella. He stood up to those who ridiculed Spurs during his time, and was a proud representative of the club. Hope he gets some minutes alongside his mate Harry and rediscovers some form and confidence.

Good luck Eric.
But let's be real- we needed and upgrade and it looks like we have one. Sentiment can't get in the way- that's how we have missed out in the past and haven't won anything for 20 odd years. Times change- we move on and hopefully begin an era of winning.
