If you don't care about the fee either then fair enough. The point I'm making is that it doesn't make any sense to look at the transfer fee in isolation. Transfer fee divided by contract length + annual wages. That's what the player costs per year.
Using the 70% UEFA figure as a benchmark, for their wages and amortisation of £236m to be sustainable they'd need to have revenues of just under £340m. Their actual revenue is just over £170m.
No idea how reliable these things are but did a search for RB Leipzig wages and these are both saying around £165k a week.

I suspect we were probably paying...
Anybody know what sort of wages he's on/would be looking for? I keep seeing references to the £15m fee (which I think in isolation would be decent VFM) but that's only half the story...
Very sensible. Klopp's their most successful manager in decades. Anyone following that is always going to be on a bit of a hiding to nothing. Just look at how many managers Utd went through after Fergie.
Oh I'm sure they weren't known at the time. My point was just that the last of these dates appears to before he was charged and banned by the Italian FA and if he's kept his nose clean since then I'm sure he'll try to use that fact in mitigation.
Just checked the timelines and it was announced he was being investigated by the Italian FA on 18 Oct and then he was banned on the 26 Oct. So it seems like he was at it right up to the point it was announced he was being investigated.
I guess if he stopped at that point and hasn't done...
Just a general comment and not aimed at you but people really need to do some simple arithmetic in their heads when they look at things like this. Even if there were hundreds of fans calling for his head on Twitter we have literally millions of fans in total.
So just as a simple example if...
Agree. It should be the other way around. The standard penalty is what you get if you cooperate completely. Any lack of cooperation should then see additional penalties added.
Are we going to end up with penalties so small that clubs end up figuring the upside of breaking the rules in terms of improved results outweighs the lost points?
