yeah.
anyway, we (still) need to bring in 2-3 more players (cb, forward or winger. so that’s 150+ mln more to spend, should we aim for top talent
i think levy’s core problem is that he tries to avoid as much risk as possible. thus delaying certain decisions which were to be made much earlier...
i do agree with some of your points
yet our lack of high profile cbs has been clear for 4 years or so. what is the rationale? either we think they’re too expensive or we fail to attract top talent… or we overreached our budget, proxy of which is a net spend
that’s part of what he’s paid for
his job isn’t only about fancy stuff like selling high quality, high profile players for good money (which is a win win situation for anyone - either you earn a lot, or keep a top talent)
shifting deadwood is smth each and every club is facing. its just doing...
i am a bit more optimistic, remember the last ucl season under Poch - scored a lot having Kane injured. fixing the defence line has to be a top priority now
Eh? It's the other way around I think
in 433 FBs are obliged to push forward, that's how you get numerical advantage in the final 3rd
Look at TAA/ Robertson heatmap here, its true classic for 433

Winks always plays the safe pass when he's on his half, not matter for Spurs or England.
It doesn't look that bad when he is surrounded by players naturally focused on aggressive and risky forward passing or forward push (Trent, Chilwell, Ox et al). But we don't have them but Davies, Aurier...
Why painful?
In order to heavily improve we in fact need 2 players: 1 world class DM and 1 excellent FB. We won't challenge Liverpool or City but top6 is a realistic target
The rest could be sorted out in summer
If we don't have cash (despite offloading any of Rose, Wanyama, Dier, Aurier...
Same old Kane for me. He's best when gets the ball in the box (close to the goal), better in 1-on-1 vs defender
(1) England's transition to attack in much faster => you often get numerical advantage
(2) With Spurs he often has 2-3 defenders/DMs always surrounding him. Since any of Sterling...
Age is also important, at 20-21 it's often hard to assess a player. E.g. how stable he is, injury resistance (see Lamela) etc
Klopp bought Mane when he was 24, Salah at 25, Alisson almost 26, Van Dijk at 26.5, Fabinho almost 25 etc
You pay more but reduce % risk
Why? There are many examples of players suffering when played out of position. Imagine Sissoko switched in AM role, would have been pure dramedy
Isco's attributes shine when played closer to the box not B2B ball-carrier
Further his wage is good but not THAT big. He does EUR 230K/week, much...
He's been shifted to the wrong position. He's poor as a CM in 433 which RM plays now
At his prime he always played pure AM at 4312 or 4231 or something similar. The mess with the managers at RM doesn't help him either
In my opinion in AM role he's still far better then Bruno Fernandes...
