Can't recall any of Ange's teams having had a traditional no 6, and from the emerging targets, he doesn't seem to be looking for one now either.
Fofana's ball-winning reminds me a lot of Dembele's back in the day. Seems to prefer to muscle someone off the ball or nick it, instead of a crunching...
He just reminds me so much of Janssen.
He may score a lot in the Eredivisie, but it feels like it's always by a fine margin and that he's often struggling a bit. Like he just edges the defenders.
He's young and may improve, but feels like a massive gamble. My worry is that we'd look to sell him...
Fully agree with your take. He's physically ready and wouldn't look out of place in the PL on that front.
He's got it all, just needs to continue refining himself until he's at the level required, which I believe he might be close to in a year or two if he continues on this trajectory in terms...
Absolutely not ready to start but by looking at him and his exceptional growth I'd be genuinely surprised if he doesn't become an option off the bench in his first season with us.
Due to recent numbers and analysis from the latest numbers from Swiss Ramble, the FFP number is likely less than half of 400m as we've run at a loss for the last 4 or 5 seasons. The 400m is from the season after we hadn't signed a single player and gone to the CL final if I recall correctly.
Certainly a better reaction than I expected, lol.
I can understand the skepticism about moving one of the best CB's in the league to DM. Due to the way we play, I feel like he could have an even bigger impact at DM than he already has at CB since he's already so mobile and would have even more...
I've been thinking about him too, but isn't he not that great at defending? Feel like he's more of an 8 but he's got boatloads of talent. Contract up in 2025 too according to Transfermarkt.
I might get shouted down for this but I'd experiment with moving Romero into the 6. He's phenomenal at reading danger and winning balls high up the pitch. Great on the ball too. In the last few months, he's been bypassed a lot by balls over the top and his strengths haven't been able to truly...
My only concern with Wieffer is the way he passes with "top spin" so often, often making the ball bounce up for the receiver and putting him under pressure. His touch doesn't seem too good either, but certainly looks like a good ball-winner.
A long ball with enough space to play it can cut through any team.
The difference is that we used to be able to suffocate the opposition team and they didn't have the freedom to play the balls the same way they do now. It may be the physical fitness, it may be something else, but we're...
I can't wrap my head around the pullbacks we're doing so often in these situations. More often than now when someone tries to overlap or underlap, we just pull the ball back into the middle of the pitch, often losing it in the process as it's a pressing trigger.
VdV has managed to bail us out...
The turnovers leading to 1-0 and 3-0 below. Son lost the ball twice from extremely dangerous positions and our midfielders were passively standing on top of each other too far from any relevant situation. The same thing happened against Luton with Son losing the ball in a position like this with...
