He's not hit and miss, he's a complete fraud.
Normally I’d agree but he actually got a few things right in summer. He's not hit and miss, he's a complete fraud.
Don't piss all over @Nick-TopSpursMan 's dreams, you heartless bastard! He's not hit and miss, he's a complete fraud.
Yeah amongst the other 98% of things he made upNormally I’d agree but he actually got a few things right in summer.
Amazing if so!! He’d be a fantastic addition to our attack. Especially on a free.100% an option and it wouldn't surprise me at all if they released him so would be a free transfer. I'm not sold on him tbh so it's not one that excites me but if we identify him as someone Ange and the new recruitment team want then that's fine by me.
Asked my best mate (who’s the oracle of Scottish football) about Jota…..
Depends if the guy actually wants to be a footballer or not. Get paid £150k a week and actually play or get paid £320k and sit on a sun lounger?Wages would be a problem methinks, he is on £10m a year tax free which equates to about £320k a week gross. Can't take on those wages on a free transfer and if loaned it would have to be heavily subsidised.
I’ll take that to sit on a sun loungerDepends if the guy actually wants to be a footballer or not. Get paid £150k a week and actually play or get paid £320k and sit on a sun lounger?
As a free he is a no brainer surely. Having him and Solomon as options where they both cost zero is pretty good business.
Yep, always hate the "he's cheap so there's nothing to lose" philosophy.Good business, or bloating the squad with mediocre players because there's a good deal to be had?
This is how we end up with the "can't buy new players before we offload players" scenario.
Having said that, I know little about Jota. But I suspect Levy loves the deal.
And I hate the 'he's cheap so he must be shit' philosophy that reigns in here.Yep, always hate the "he's cheap so there's nothing to lose" philosophy.
In the transfer market you definitely need to look for opportunities. Many fans just write up wish lists and ignore availability and obtainability.
But just looking for available is a recipe for disaster.
Ange is the man at the club who knows the most about Jota. If Ange wants him, it's a no-brainer. If he doesn't we have to steer club regardless of the price.
I don't think that idea reigns in here to be honest. I think some are sceptical for cheap deals as sometimes we have chosen cheap deals ahead of getting in real talent. And I hate the 'he's cheap so he must be shit' philosophy that reigns in here.
You should read the Vicario thread again then.I don't think that idea reigns in here to be honest. I think some are sceptical for cheap deals as sometimes we have chosen cheap deals ahead of getting in real talent.
We've got cheap deals for the likes of Vicario, Bissouma and others. Don't recall any "he must be shit" appraisals of them.
I did read it thanks. The view that we went for the cheap option did exist, but didn't reign. Certainly don't recall anyone saying he was shit. You should read the Vicario thread again then.
Indeed the last few years have been great in that regard, prior to that it's been the opposite. For me there's no point in looking at either point in time as an indicator of anything right now though because the player identification team has changed again. This isn't the regime that saw us wasting money on lesser players, and it's also not the same one that decided on Kulu, VdV and Vic.You should read the Vicario thread again then.
