While I still think Potter's a good manager, it would feel like such a downer to bring in yet another Chelsea-reject, who is fresh off failing at a big club and a bit of a charisma vacuum.

He's not high on my list for sure, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if he rocked up somewhere else and did well. Boehly really screwed him over with his ridiculous recruitment and landed him with a massive squad under huge pressure.

I wouldn't write Potter off. The general consensus on Eddie Howe was 'fuck that' a while back, but he's doing a great job at Newcastle with some players we'd laugh at on here if they were linked.

I honestly think Potter is underrated because his name is Potter, and he comes across as a bit of a boring English bloke. I think people would be more excited about him if he was Spanish for example.

Well Cooper did a better job than him at Swansea and De Zerbi is doing a better job so i'd be more excited about them 2.

Can't shake the feeling that he'd do well here....and I don't want to feel that 😆

Pott, Slot or Poch? Is this Dr fucking Seuss?
I would go for Slot let Poch fulfill his dream of managing Real Madrid, If Poch came to us and the Real job did become available it would be hard to see him turn it down.

Yeah this is the massive issue with Potter now, I think. I don't think fans would give him much time because everyone's so fed up with ex-Chelsea managers.

I’m assuming that is because Ancelotti is staying at RM

Dont think he will. Never denied the role and the brazilian players are openly talking about it. Think its a case of focusing on cups for Madrid and then get the deal done in summer.

I think Howe would've suited us and done well here, I don't think Potter would. I don't think he's that likeable or charismatic and his teams pass a lot but struggle to score, it would be yet another ex-Chelsea hire and he's just been sacked off a fairly shambolic allbeit short tenure.

Very different to Howe who worked wonders at Bournemouth for years then ran out of steam and budget to keep refreshing the squad, Howe is a more rounded manager tactically and he's more likeable imo.

Really not keen on Potter. I'd be more keen on Rodgers than Potter if we went down the route of one of those two but I'd not particularly want either of them and would prefer Slot, Gallardo, De Zerbi, Amorim etc.

What makes me laugh is "But Potter never given a proper number 9 at Brighton or Chelsea"

Look at De Zerbi with Brighton now.

Its nonsense.

Apply the same logic with Kompany & City. Could you imagine all the indirect flirting?

Equally as boring as Conte reminding us about him being a “serial winner” and defending his reputation better then we could defend our penalty area.

I'm all aboard the Slot train now - I've had enough of 'big name' managers to be honest - give it to a hungry young manager who really wants to prove himself here.

Seems a tad unfair. Didn’t Potter leave Brighton 4th in the table prior to taking the Chelsea job?

We’re not for one minute saying he underachieved are we?

Lets have it straight here.

According to SC we need........

A modern manager who is young enthusiastic and yet also vastly experienced with all situations and leagues.

A front foot manager who plays exciting free flowing forward playing football, yet also someone who is defensively sound and tactically astute.

Someone who will work with whatever players he has and make them better, yet will keep Levy on his toes to bring in top quality players.

A manager who will make a team better than the sum of it's parts, but has the ability to manage the superstar players and agents.

Have I got that right?

i think most of us just want to see a long-term / direction through the club, so if we need to replace, Players, managers, etc there is a continued strategy, also a plan to integrate youth players short, medium and long term!
Slot is the Jol/Poch hybrid this club needs. A guy who plays attacking football and a man who will connect with the fans. Nagelsmann on the other hand is a smug faced arrogant tosser, who whilst talented clearly knows it and would be another of the Spurs are lucky to have me brigade.
i do worry JN would think he is better than spurs and maybe his to complex in his football, only time will tell i suppose!

Potter's last match at Brighton they won 5-2, wasn't much different this season.

I'm fearful that we'll sit on our hands until the season's over on the off chance that Stellini is everything we've ever dreamed of in a manager after he's out of Conte's shadow.
